Thanks, I'll give the Dovo blades a try. Have you tried the Tondo TSS 3 blades - made in Germany, Dovo perhaps?

RE: Miraki Shavette I have one of those. I've only ever used it with Miraki blades - they don't seem to be the sharpest, and perhaps I should look out the green and red blade holders and have another stab at it.

As Sezer74 says, the knot is very different to something like an Omega 49, or even the posher 31064 for instance. It seems much more densely packed and displays a very pronounced mushrooming after a couple of uses.

Oh Dear Lord Some crackers

I have an AS-D2 that I use in rotation loaded with Polsilver I's. I find it gives a good, but mild shave with a narrow sweetspot. However, I personally don't like the supplied handle - it just doesn't feel good in my hands - and consequently have it handled with a Tradere.

Ordered couple of Haslinger soaps yesterday (sandalwood and the calendula) - interested to see how they perform. I used to really rate MWF when I was living in Manchester, but now I'm using Thames water I'm not liking the stuff. May have to offload my stock.

Poundland used to stock the stuff - may still do so? Bodycare as well.

Thanks for the heads up on the Polsilvers - just stocked up. Given ramping up of sanctions on Russia I wonder if we're going to go through a Russian blade drought at some point in the future?
