Liz Earle C&P
Liz Earle Shave Cream
Vie-Long Horse
Merkur 33c
Treet platinum
Witch Hazel Gel
M&S Amber AS.

Always get top performance from this shave cream.
First class job today.

Hot shower & 3P
Semogue 620
Vitos super crema
Gillette new short comb on templ8 handle
Gillette black 7 o'clock (3)
Aqua velva

Nice shave with my new monster handle the waves fit my fingers perfectly.

Gillette #88
Astra SP (1)
SOC 2-band
Proraso red
Proraso ASB

Quick shave. Woke up in Bournemouth at half 5, was in work for 7, and left work 12 hours later. Nice, gentle start to the week. Fortunately, the shave tonight was pleasant. Not a close shave but the Proraso sandalwood smells lovely and works well with the Semogue. That reminds me that I sniffed the Taylor's take on sandalwood at the weekend and nearly wretched. It's just rank - in my opinion, of course.

Gillette New Standard
Gillette Bleue Extra
Mama Bear's Ice Eucalyptus and Menthol shaving soap
Ricardo L'Homme Sport aftershave

Satisfying but lots of micro-weepers

Tuesday 8th October 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready Streamline
Blade: GEM Blue Star Carbon
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Soap: Lea Stick grated
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)

An ok shave, the Streamline is my least liked SE razor which is why I so really use it.

I find it is very angle sensitive, a couple of degrees one way and it is scraping and just a couple the other and it does not cut. IMHO a difficult razor that only gives it's best if you use it regularly. Not a razor to just pick up every now and again and expect a good shave (exactly what I do)

I feel the cult following is more to do with the razors undeniable good looks and superb construction than it's prowess as a shaver. As always this is just one mans opinion.

Regards
Dick.

Tuesday viii October, 2013

Prep: Shower, Kiehl's Energizing Facial Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Coates Fitzwilliam Pure Badger
Soap: MWF
Razor: Digress HD
Blade: Wizamet Polsilver Stainless #2
Post: Thayer's Medicated WH, Institut Karité

Result: Still waiting for son & heir to make an appearance. As I'll be at home for a decent number of consecutive days I'd thought I'd break out the MWF and give it a decent run out. I gave it a couple of test lathers yesterday as the puck had dried out somewhat. Spent a time building a nice slick glossy lather and it performed as per heightened expectations. It is a great soap and it is English, splendid. First time out, too, for the Coates Fitzwilliam. It's a good brush and I'm pleased to have it in my armoury.

Have a good day, gents

Jon

Actually, Dick, I think you'll find it has at least one more man's opinion to add to yours...
