I'll bet with your big mitts you need to be careful how you hold that razor.

Are they Maggard scales by the way?

the razor is pretty big itself, but yeah with no thumbnotch or guard, it makes the shave fun :)

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Nannys Warm Spice hard soap scuttle lathered
Simpson Emperor 1 super badger brush
Gillette NEW 2 piece
Sputnik (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lavender witch hazel
Sir Irisch Moos aftershave balsam

Today I brought out Nannys Warm Spice soap. I soaked the top of the puck with hot water while I showered as it's ages since I used it. I was rewarded with some lovely fine slick lather  I had a Sputnik blade loaded in the razor and after the Croma yesterday it's like night and day. The Sputnik provided an effortless mowing down of my whiskers.

Another top-quality accidental BBS. The blade shows no sign of flagging, so I'm going to keep on using it for a while. If it ain't broke...

Hot Towels.
Nuage Men Shaving Oil.
Ingram's Shaving Cream.
Pure Badger Brush.
Merkur 23C - SuperMax Blue Diamond (2).
Homebrew Witch Hazel Menthol Toner (Sprygg).
Brut Musk Aftershave.

Second shave with the SuperMax Blue Diamond. After the first, I already knew that was a blade I liked ... this time, loved it. No nicks, no issues, just glide and smooth. I also like the PolSilver Super Iridium, but find I cannot feel this blade as much. Does that mean it's "smoother"? It works with my razor, my technique and my face more than any of the others I've tried and is a real stand-out blade for me.

I used my homebrew Witch Hazel Menthol Toner, which is a little light, but a great pick me up after Ingram's. I think I got the menthol just right.

Aftershave? Brut Musk ... gotta hoover up all the classics, eh? Quroum next!

In all, a bloomin' good shave. Very smooth. ATG was not really necessary, but I did it anyway just to clean up any bits I missed. I'm finding my feet with this Merkur now, and certainly achieving better than before shaves WTG and XTG. I'll nail the last little areas in those two paths soon enough.
