Tuesday

Having been shopping yesterday thought I'd try out a couple of new purchases

Cream: Ingrams Blue
Brush: Hand made custom
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Gillete 7 o'clock
Balm: Geo F Trumper skin food - Rose
Moisturiser: Mystery test
Aftershave: Aqua Di Palma

It's my first time using a mentholated shave cream and I found it quite refreshing with a nice tingle after each pass

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
ABC-Stahly/Schick Plus Platinum (NOS)
Surrey SS used as a stick (pre VDH reformulation)
Kramperts Finest Bay Rum AS

Popped a fresh blade in this combo and whew.....what a frankenrazor. Very forgiving combo, yet still quite effective for whisker whacking.

BBS results,

Martin

Soap: Tabac
AS: TOBS Victorian Lime + Tiger face lotion
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

Nice shave, if it hadn't been for a small nick on the throat I would prob have been uber clean :D The Palmolive AS, in the pic, is a vintage Swedish AS, aka Shaving Water here :)

TUESDAY EVENING

Gillette New
Gillette 365 (2)
Semogue 1305
Proraso Menthol
Witch hazel
Boots Freshwood AS balm

Spent longer loading a drier brush tonight. The result was much better lather.

A very nice, close shave although a persistent weeper under the chin which is a bit annoying.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (4)
Soap: Tabac stick
Brush: Neep #1059 soapstone 26mm super silvertip badger
Balm: Bulldog
Scent: Penhaligon's Endymion
Result: lovely :)

No irritation at the usual base-of-neck area at all. I'm trialling a slightly different pass sequence this week, which may help.
