Wednesday. Razor: Knopp open razor; Preshave: Noxzema Plus; Brush: Badger; Soap: 1st time using Nanny's Juniper-berry, nice lather, good slide But!! Thought it would have a Gin fragrance!!!; AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel; Balm: Nivea Protective. Great shave but... Expected Gin!!

A very unexpected shave this morning! Put a NOS Gillette Bleue Extra into a 1920s Standard head (Pedro, please confirm) on my Bob's Razor 110mm wooden handle and idly noticed it looked a tad more aggressive than a Tech.

Whoa! R41s were invented a long time ago! What a shave! I'd have said BBS but for the neck shaving thread - so a DFS bordering on BBS - but so easy. Weight off, weight off! Buffing so incredibly easy - the razor re-applied the lather on the retreat stroke, all in neat parallel lines.

Felt really good afterwards and used oodles of smellies and unctions.

I might try it with the original, short little handle for fun, even if it looks doll's house in my hand.

Vintage Kent superbadger (my fathers circa 1957), Gillette Tech with US personna, E-shave lavender soap, osma alum block and Captian's Choice bay rum. (Worth the 5 US for a sample)

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, imperial leather bath soap
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (9)
Brush: Neep #1145 onyx chess pawn 26mm extra silvertip badger
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Green Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
Result: very close but very slightly tender on splash application

Been doing four neck passes, and probably need to back off from that for a day or two.

Edit: just noticed I forgot to mention the soap. Taylor's, Jermyn street. Lovely.

Prep: Face wash, clinique soap then hot flannel
Razor: Feather AS-D1
Blade: Feather
Brush: Mulhe silvertip fibre 21mm
Software: L'Occitane Cade soap
Post Prep: Clinique Post-Shave Soother Beard Control Formula

Setting the bar rather high with the arty photos of your hardware but I'll have to have a go at that too.

Weber Bulldog DLC
Wilkinson Classic
Semogue 2000
Blighty's Arlequin
Blighty's Leather AS
Blighty's Universal Balm

Swapping the blades round to see how the Weber handles different ones. Not as smooth as the Gillette black but incredibly close shave and irritation free.
