Trumper Razor
Astra Super Platinum Blade
Semogue 2000 Brush*

*What great brush. First time with it this morning and it worked very well. I'm very pleased.

Today, a quality shave!

Pre Alep soap + Mitchells Wool Fat soap + Lijun Finest Badger + Merkur Slant 37C with Gillette 7'Oclock green + Cool Water lotion and balm

It's curious how a soap so difficult to make foam using brush + bowl is so easy if simply use it like a stick: passing through your beard and then facelathering

A real good shave!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Marshall Fields two band
'Webly'/Personna74 (NOS)
IK SS
Malizia Vetyver AS
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT

This old blade is still sharp after eight shaves. Usually I toss a blade after 4-5 uses at most, but this one's a little different. I could continue to use the blade until it dulls (whenever that is), but instead I will retire it gracefully. This old Personna is pretty darn impressive.

BBS results,

Martin

Awesome. Happy shaving buddy.

Merkur 38B with Polsilver (3)
Merkur 39C with Shark SS (2)
Nanny's Ice and a Slice Soap
Unbranded Badger Brush
GFT Lime Skin Food
T&H Trafalgar Cologne

Two passes with the 38B/Polsilver combo, but the second pass was very bad indeed, so I had to grab the slant to do it again.

I really don't get this, the 38B/polsilver combo has been a treat before, but each of the 3 shaves in this run have been dubious. Could be a duff one I guess, but very unusual.

Good result in the end, the second combo was very smooth and took the patches away with ease.

I've not done one of these in a while so here goes:

TUESDAY EVENING

Aristocrat 58
Gillette Super Stainless (1)
Semogue LE Boar 2
Trumper Sandalwood cream (scuttle lathered), added Erasmic to the mix for the final pass
Witch hazel
Castle Forbes AS balm

Bloody Semogue hoovered up all my lather after pass two! The sooner it is broken in the better!

However, it's a measure of what a lovely grade of boar hair it is that it's suitable for lathering creams.

Nothing more to say about the Aristocrat. I could sell all my razors now and keep this (yeah, like THAT'S going to happen) and it would deliver perfect shaves until the day I die!

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (8)
Soap: Taylor's Jermyn Street
Brush: Neep #955 soapstone silvertip badger
Balm: Trumper's Skin Food, West Indian Limes
Scent: Trumper's GFT
Result: great as usual :)

This soap makes my face feel great - and I forget, with Blenheim Bouquet being so good, how much I enjoy wearing GFT. Splendid.
