If you listen really carefully, it feels just like a Tech!

A delightfully smooth, gentle BBS.

Gillette 1930s open comb New (replated in gold)
Rapira Super Stainless (yesterday's one)
TOBS Almond cream (nearing the end of the pot and I want to wash it out and put my Aramis or Kent puck in there)
Proraso post-shave cream

Great shave. I know I had lather and cushion problems yesterday but this razor just has a knack of making any blade work with it. I'm tempted to put a Big Ben, Laser or even a Derby in it tomorrow just to see how I get on!

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Razor: EJ DE89
Cream: TOBS Jermyn Street
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Two passes (WTG, X/ATG)
Aftershave: Nivea ASB
Music: Ludovico Einaudi
Result: Best shave I've ever had and that's why I'm posting. I think I'm getting my technique down a bit. Hope the rest of the day is as good as that half an hour. :)

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep;

1964 Macys badger (heh, yes, the handle's dated)
'Webly'/Personna74 (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Barbershop Bay Rum
Aramis 'Havana' EdT (old juice)

Back to the 'Webly' today for day six of the same Personna blade. Yeah, the Personna was just a little too sharp for my Diplomat, but it's perfect for this frankenrazor. The blade might be barely starting to dull but I can't be sure....another really nice shave.

BBS results,

Martin

Sunday morning shave.
Feather AC proguard
Boar Brush
Maca Root shaving cream
Alum
Bay Rum
Neiva Protective Lotion
Nice shave ready for a day working at the Theater.(back stage).

Sunday:

Razor: Short handled super adj (7)
Blade: Bic (3)
Brush: M&F Blonde in horn
Soap: Nannys soapy one
Post: Nivea sensitive followed by Old spice white water

BBS results.

Got the scuttle out today. Need to crack this as the heat is drying up my lather. Little bit frustrating but I'm sure il crack it soon...

#16
Wilkinson saloon pack India
2213
Gillette lemon lime cream light lather not snuff body too much fluff

Blightys unction to finish.

A comfortable enjoyable Sunday shave. Two passes wtg and xtg.
Yrs
Slickbo

Edwin Jagger DE87
Astra SP (2)
GFT Coconut Oil Cream

And that's it. What an idiot I am. I went away to meet up with friends and forgot to pack a shaving brush!

I opted not to shave on Saturday but this morning decided I needed to shave, so I smeared the cream on with my fingers. Not the best lather ever, but enough to at least have a reasonable shave (although a bit patchy in places)

Sunday evening shave, sort of randomly picked items to use:

Grieg: Holberg suite (has become my music of choice for shaving now)
Hot shower, RSC facial scrub, proraso pre-post for a menthol hit
EJ de89 barley, SHark blade (1)
New Forest brush
T&H No.10 cream (lush, in the botanical sense - it has a very green, plant like scent)

two passes and touchups,
Floid Vigoroso, Proraso pre-post.

nice, close, easy shave.

SUNDAY EVENING

Aristocrat 58
Gillette Super Stainless (2)
Semogue LE Boar 2
Cade soap (tin lathered)
Witch hazel
Castle Forbes AS balm

Still not that impressed with the soap. Can get a reasonable lather with it, but it's so much less impressive than I was expecting and noticeably inferior to 'top performers' like Nannys hard soap, Arko, Tabac, etc.

The razor is lovely though. Effortless no nick shave delivering an almost BBS (I'd call it an 8 tenths BBS).

These 7 o'clock super stainless give me such an easy quick shave (2 passes on 4 and 2 and no touch up pass) but if you go down the touch up road they can give razor burn from hell. A blade for experienced DE shavers I reckon
