SOTD w/c 4th - 10th Feb. incl.

Wednesday:

Hot shower
Proraso pre/post
Palmolive cream
Muhle R41
Feather (4)
Alum & Witch Hazel
Nivea Replenishing ASB
Pinaud Vanilla

3 passes, BBS, very happy. Unusually I got a couple of weepers under my nose. Nothing the alum couldn't sort.

1 shave, 2 razors, 3 blades
Merkur 38r with Ladas (2nd shave)
Flare Tip Superspeed with Topaz Platinum and Topaz Stainless
Tobs Sandalwood cream
Henk walnut silvertip brush
Professor Blighty's Universal Shaving Balm - cedarwood and clarysage

The Ladas skipped and dragged in the merkur so binned it. The topaz wasn't bad but was blunt during second pass so user another to finish up

Merkur 38B
Gillette 7 O'Clock Green (1)
TOBS Jermyn Street Cream
Kent BK4
GFT Lime Skin Food
TOBS Jermyn Street Cologne

2 passes and touchups on the chin, very clean and smooth.

I have fallen in love with two things, the base of your brush and your razor stand. The brush I am assuming is custom made, is the razor stand also? I love them lots and would love to get things like that.

My shave: Too mediocre to mention

Thank you Fiona! Yes, the brush's custom made by our own Le Tuft/Bill aka bejay here on the forum ... so it's possible to get one :) The razor stand was a gift approx 9 yrs ago, when I was visiting Barcelona, so I don't know how to get hold of it, I'm sorry to say.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest silvertip in vintage barbers handle
Razor: Max Sprecher
Soap: Nannys French Lavender
AS: Floris, Santal
Strops: Tony + Neil Miller
Result: Uber clean :D

Close one today, real close :)

Marshall Fields badger
Stahly-ABC frankenrazor/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
IK SS used as a stick
Wilkinsons AS Lotion

Wednesday
Prep: Tea Tree face wash
Prep: Hot flannel 2 mins
Soap: Edwin Jagger Sandalwood Cream
Brush: Edwin Jagger Best Badger
Razor: Merkur 34c HD
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Post shave: Alum Block
Post shave: Boots Freshwood Balm
Aftershave: Truefitt & Hill Freshman

First time with this blade (still working through the sample pack) and wow, a really smooth and easy shave.

Simple face gel wash
Razor Taylors Witness 1000
Brush Le Tuft Le Une grande
Vulfix Persian Musk
Alum + witch Hazel
TOBS Sandalwood Balm gel
Botanics Moisturiser SPF 15
L'Occitane Cedre L'Atlas eau De Parfum.

Jamie.

Very Nice shave from the Taylors 1000, but the difference from this traditional razor to the Feather straight is like a Golf GTI compared to a fomular 1 car, it's never going to be challenger, you notice it a lot more when you last shaved with the feather, then you next shave is with a traditional straight.

True, I haven't decided yet, but so far I'm not impressed with this Yardley soap, but I'm open for it being a matter of CBTB (Crap Behind The Brush) phenomena too ...

Wednesday

Schick Dial Adjustable Injector
Schick Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Palmolive Cream
Clinique Post Shave Soother

There's something comforting about the Palmolive cream. I think that my maternal grandfather used to use it, so the scent is possibly etched somewhere in my subconcious. Fox's Glacier Mints have a similar effect for the same reason.
