Saturday

Feather AC-SS
Feather Proguard Blade
Schick Injector Dial Adjustable
Schick Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Cella

Removal of a 9 day old beard, as I have not shaved since Mr. Chickenpox came to stay.

First pass with the Feather to remove the bulk, and then a tidy-up with the Injector. Very gentle and very nice. Feel a bit more human, now.

Ian

Pre-shave - Extra Virgin Olive oil
Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorne Shaving Soap
Edwin Jagger large size pure badger brush
Merkur Progress with Derby Extra blade
Witchhazel
Alum
Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorne Balm

This is only the second time I've used the Progress having graduated from a 34HD.
I set it to '3' for WG, XG and some parts of the AG pass. Dialled it down to 1 for the under-nose and under-lip areas, and finished off the neck and under-chin with a 4/5 (very lightly!). Probably the best shave I've ever had.

Boots No 7 for men facewash.
Simpsons Special best badger brush.
Nanny's Lavender shaving soap.
EJ 89 with Personna red (#3).
Thayers rose witch hazel.
Wilkinsons sword Hydro balm.
Azzaro Acteur EDT.
Nice shave today, bit of a Rose theme going on !

SATURDAY MORNING

Ikon S3S Bamboo
Gillette Russian Green (2)
Neep Verderer
Tabac stick
Witch Hazel
Castle Forbes AS Balm

The most expensive razor I've bought. Would it prove to be a dud?

Well, definitely not. A lovely razor. When you reach the right cutting angle it delivers a very satisfying rasping noise.

All in all a very pleasant shave. Rod's brush works marvellously with the Tabac and gives a really nice lather.

A good start to a Saturday.

Shaving?

In this weather?

Not a chance. I'm going native 'til at least May.

You could always split the difference by NOT using nothing but mentholated icy products...

Saturday:

Red tip Superspeed
Personna Medical Prep
Neep box wood silvertip
TOBS lavender cream (sample)

Could I get a decent lather out of this cream? Hell no.

I don't know why, but I have never managed to get a truly thick and stable lather out of any TOBS cream. I've never had this problem with other Creighton's-made creams (Truefitt & Hill and Maca Root). Strange, maybe it just doesn't like the water here in Brighton...

Had exactly the same problem with TOBS lavender but the lemon and lime was awesome... Macca Root totally owns though..
