This morning:

Prep: Steam
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (3)
Soap: Pre de Provence
Brush: Neep #1033 soapstone 24mm high mountain badger
Balm: Nivea sensitive
Scent: Trumper's GFT

Experimented with replacing the sidewaysish nearly-atg neck pass with a third xtg pass (down, up, down). Not as close as usual, but quicker and even more comfortable. The result was definitely acceptable - the difference not visible without very close scrutiny, if at all. Not as satisfying as getting really close, though. Food for thought.

Is that a vintage Revisor or one of the new ones?
I am getting an itch for a new Revisor!

It`s a new Revisor, not a vintage. I bought the razor directly in Revisor. I think that he have a few vintage razors on the website

Razor: Kropp and Mergress
Blade: 7 o'clock green (2)
Brush: Thater
Soap: Tabac
Post: Nivea sensitive.

Lovely shave. I've not had a to with the straight for a good 2 weeks now so the learning curve is pretty much back to square one. I'm not sure I enjoy it? I'll give it a few more goes and see if it's DE's all the way or not.

Gillette Super Adjustable on 6, 4, 2 with j4 7 o'clock
Professor Blighty Grapewood soap
Henk walnut silvertip brush
Professor Blighty's Universal Shaving Balm - cedarwood and clarysage

Reasonable shave. Can't get close with this blade which seems akin to most pre 1970s blades. They're also easier on my face so swings and roundabouts but I generally prefer to master a sharper blade!

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (4)
Soap: L'Occitane Cade
Brush: Neep #1033 soapstone 24mm high mountain badger
Balm: Bulldog
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
Result: excellent

Up very very late and certainly broke my speed record - I doubt the 2.5 passes took more than ten minutes. Very close and comfortable, no skin breaches.
