Brush - Yaqi Mysterious Blue 26mm Tuxedo
Soap - Lea Shaving Stick (vegan)
Razor - Fat Handle Tech
Blade - Treet Durasharp Blue (1)
AS - Brut Oceans

First time using the new formulation of the Lea Shaving Stick, I'd used the old tallow one a few times (it was a sample) and I quite liked it, I never got around to buying the tallow one so I bought the latest formulation, with Potassium Cocoate as the second ingredient.
Out of the container it smelled somewhat inoffensive, a very mild neutral soap scent and when I rubbed it on the face it is rock solid, it might be the hardest shaving stick I have come across!
As for the lather, I don't think I loaded enough soap, even though I had a huge amount of lather (the brush is a monster) my lather was a bit lacklustre, not much slickness or gloss to it but it was fine enough to see through a 2 pass shave, without any nicks or cuts. I finished the shave with a few splashes of Brut Oceans, which feels great on the skin.
I'd also not used the Blue Treet Durasharp blade for a while, which was a pretty solid albeit not spectacular performer, but I enjoyed using it. My blade collection is so huge now, I'm not even sure if I bought it or if it was given to me. I think Paul @pjgh might have sent it, if you did thanks! If it was someone else, I'm sorry if I forgot!

Nice one Dave, the ubiquitous GEM, the gift to modern wet shavers that keeps on giving. I would hazard a guess that it can be modified to work well in virtually all obsolete and quirky razors from way back. (y)

Razor and blade Mühle
Brush no name bristle
Soap RazoRock Puros
I was a bit sceptical about the soap as it purports to be “The scent of premium cured cigar leaf“. As a non smoker all my life i had doubts about smelling like i had just smoked a Havana special. However, it smells nothing even close to that in my opinion. It’s creamy and smooth and actually smells really amazing without being overpowering. I like it!
Have a great day fellas

I know what you mean about Lea soap being rock hard Shubs.
It's like a triple milled French soap such as Pre De Provence, it's so dense.
When I first used the vegetal Lea Stick, it felt like the 'circular edge' was gouging into my face. I quickly dented/rounded the 'edge', and it was a much nicer experience.

Going to see a bit of this Razor as quality trouble free Shave required. Today a Funeral, and tomorrow off to Winchester for Two nights, to a Reunion with Dinners on both nights. The Claymore was good, the blade being excellent on its second outing.

Thanks for the reply Paul. That sounds like great advice, I will give it a go for tomorrow's shave!

Yes, you are right. It's one of the hardest soaps I have used, definitely seems as hard as PdP, which I quite liked but I think even if I've used the new Lea just the once, I think I prefer it to PdP, which had a herby scent I could never quite get on with!

Razor: Yaqi Excalibur
Blade: Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink SE, 1st use
Brush: DS Cosmetic Ken Surfs
Bowl: PAA Intergalactic Travel Scuttle
Preshave: PAA Cube 2.0 Soap
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat Puck
Aftershave: Fine Barber Blue Aftershave
Balm: Proraso Blue Balm
Additional Care: Shave Tunes Courtesy Of An Old School Rockabilly Playlist
Additional Care: Wife Sniff Test = Not Too Bad At All

Continuing with the SE rabbit hole thread the Yaqi Excalibur arrived yesterday. This shows that YMMV to perfection. First shave with it and it was very enjoyable. It may be blasphemy to some but I prefer it to the Colonial General already. Obviously the fit and finish of it is not as good but for me it shaves me much better and easier. Angle was very intuitive and it was as smooth as a porn stars ass.

It was everything I expected the General to be and more. Two tiny weepers which stopped with cold water which I am putting down to a new blade in a new razor combo.

Everything else I am keeping the same while experimenting with the SE stuff so it's my most dependable soap which is the fat.

First run out with the Ken Surfs brush. To be honest I am not a face latherer so the one part of shaving I can't get excited about are brushes but it seemed to work okay.

It’s a great little razor and it’s why I kept it over the Hawk, I knew I could get some cash for the Hawk and nothing for the Excalibur but the Excalibur give la a smooth and easy shave each time so it was no burden to keep it quite the opposite. I have upgraded the handle though which also helps.

Soap: Seaforth! Sea Spiced Lime Puck
Aftershave: Seaforth! Sea Spiced Lime EDT
Balm: Seaforth! Spice Lime Aftershave Toner Lotion
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

This was the first outing for the Claymore and I have to say I was worried and a little dubious about the handle. I needn’t have worried though as it actually was spot on, especially in finding the sweet spot with the balance. BBS in 3 without effort and I can only imagine it will get better once I’ve got used to the angle and handle even more. I’m throughly impressed and it comes in at a great price point new even better as I got it in a trade! Only one shave in but this is going nowhere! Now I just have the Stando Pro and Vector to try, (a General if they ever come up and no doubt the Tatara once it’s released but they don’t count!) I’m genuinely impressed and am going to love this I’m sure!

Good shout, I will try that. First shave with Hawk tomorrow so I will see how I get on,
