Wonderful photo, great use of depth of field and sepia effect lends itself to the image perfectly.

A colleague got me back into DE. Thanks, he knows who he is. Anyway, 3 shaves in and easy c20 hours research some really honest observations and leanings.

A) Pre shave your choice Hot water loads of cream

B) blade is every thing used a 7 o clock worked awesome

C) leave the alum out or use in a limited way

D)Use Nannys shaving cream.

Major success

Wednesday 6th February 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Micromatic OC
Blade: GEM Blue Star Carbon
Brush: Semogue OC Boar
Soap: Tabac
Aftershave: RSC Cream

A very nice shave in terms of closeness but my face feels just a tiny bit tender which I put down to the lack of coating on these carbon blades, or perhaps me being so used to a PTFE coated SE blade. I suspect these blades require a more delicate touch!

Regards
Dick.

This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Thiers-Issard "basic black", 11/16"
Brush: Neep #1033 soapstone ball and bobbin 24mm high mountain badger
Cream: Body Shop Maca Root
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Green Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

Fantastic shave today, really close and comfortable.

Pre hot towel + Proraso sandal soap + Vie&Long 14830 horse&badger + Gillette Super Adjustable with Gillette Thin + Sergio Tacchini splash with Proraso Blue balm

First use of this mix hair brush. I have never tried this combination, and for me it seemed like a "vitamined" horse: denser, floppier and a bit prickier. Not very suitable for hard soaps, better for creams&bowl lathering but at least has a reasonably performance doing circular motions in face (not like other pure horse brushes I have tried).

A good shave anyway

Cheers!
