treet dura sharp classic, blue packet

TOBS st james shaving cream

excellent shave. really impressed wth the treet blade, only bought it because i liked the packet, i got a ten pack with my last bestshave order, i got a really smooth and irritation free shave. i may get some more of these depending on how the next few shaves go.

Yesterdays straight shave was poor even by my standards - very patchy and included a strip on my chin that refused to look or feel shaved despite several atempts to touch up, but I resisted getting the DE out to clean up. One thing I have realised is that I appear to be able to touch up to a fashion with the straight now.

Tonight shave was more memorable due to one 'lucky' (I'd like to call it skill or technique but it was pure luck) movement through my whiskesrs and over my chin. I even did another pass afterwards for no reason other than to see if I could do it again in the same place, but alas no. Tonights shave felt much less patchy but I am still struggling with my weak hand still.

A very leisurely shower
Proraso Pre/Post (Old formula)
Feather Artist SS - Pro blade (6)
AoS Sandalwood cream
Kent BK10
Clinique post shave beard reduction formula
Witch hazel

and a glass of red.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (3)
Brush: Neep #1156 cocobolo chubby 24mm extra silvertip
Soap: Queen Charlotte Vostok
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Rosewood
Scent: Trumper's Sandalwood

Nice soap, though the larger dried out a bit by the third pass. Very chilly on rinse, and all the menthol helped clear the pollen out of my nose!

First little nick in a long long time - noticed a spot on my neck last night, thought "must be careful of that" in the morning, completely forgot. Only a droplet though.

Good morning friends! :)

PREP: Floïd Sandolor Pre Shave Gel
BRUSH: 23 mm Shavemac, Finest Badger ("Gut rasiert" forum shaving brush 2011)
SOAP/CREAM: L'occitane Cade Shaving Soap
SCUTTLE / BOWL: Fitjar Lathering Up Shaving Bowl
RAZOR: 6/8" Revisor, shoulderless, Full Hollow Ground, Round Point
STROP: Biber-Elster Feinste Spez. Juchte paddle strop
SHAVE: 2 passes, WTG/XTG
AS: Floïd (Spanish)
RESULT: Very clean, BBS shave

Have a nice day,

Aqueous cream
Dr Dulcamara shaving soap
Aristocrat 16 with Trig blade (third shave)
Tobs unscented cream
Fatboy with Trig (3rd shave), Chinese Schick (3rd shave)
M and S Woodspice a/s balm

The Trig was rough but not draggy in the Aristo. I had another Trig blade on standby but this wasn't much better. I gave up during the second pass (buffing too) and switched the newer Trig to the Fatboy. On 4 this was smoother but not really removing much hair. Annoyed by this point as my lather had been difficult to attain and even harder to prevent quickly collapsing, I switched to the Schick and tobs cream. Got the job done much better. I think I'll move on to the Treet Platinum - Trigs are a bit fickle about their razors for my liking.

Thursday

Dovo Best Quality 5/8
New Forest 2201 Brush
Penhaligon's English Fern Shaving Soap

Back on the horse, but I think it's 10K touch-up time.

Prep: Lush Angels on Bare Skin + hot cloth
Razor: 34c with Wilkinson Sword blade
Cream: TOBS Sandalwood cream
Brush: EJ badger brush
Post-shave: Bluebeards Revenge post shave balm
Scent: Bleue de Chanel

Dove soap/hot face cloth prep
Ford & Medley Arrow Razor 5/8
Taylor's sandlewood shaving cream
Geo.F.Trumper Skin Food to finish

Not as close as I would like, but comfortable, and I was was expremnting with the angle, this one likes a bit more ..for more bite ...so it seems.

This razor was never meant to be a top performer, but a razor for the common man with limited money, it just gets the job done, "no luxury mate.... just get on with it".

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row 204 badger
'Webly'/Wilkinson Light Brigade (NOS)
Klar Kabinett SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT

Six excellent shaves with this old blade....time for retirement. Could get more outta the Wilkinson if I wanted to, but other blades are calling me now.

BBS results,

Martin

Thursday

Another day, another brush and razor combo.

Soap: Professor Blightys Isen Vann
Brush: Edwin Jagger Black Badger
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge yellow
A/S: Professor Blightys Isen Vann

This was a bad choice of brush and soap combo, as its a very soft brush with no backbone, which made lathering a very hard soap a bit challenging.

It was a great shave when I finally got the lather sorted.

Listened to the radio whislt shaving today, maybe on some subconcious level it helped as its my best straight shave so far. Still far from brilliant but things do appear to be heading in the right direction,
