SOTD 6th-12th Oct

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Simpsons rebranded badger
'Webly'/Iridium
Klar Kabinett SS
Barbershop Bay Rum AS
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (black bottle)

Whew doggies......heck of a shave using this razor/blade combo and soap. Easy as using a cartridge, but lots more fun. The Klar Kabinett is one hell of a product, especially for the amazing low price. One pound of this rose scented wonderfulness runs me $26 shipped to my door.

BBS results,

Martin

I maintain it's the awesome razor stand he uses. It looks tremendous in every photo.

Lovely, but I like that John Nowill better. But then I'm biased and can't use a straight worth a sook. :D

L'Occitane Cade shaving cream
Birth year Super Adjustable on 5, 3
Ming Shi MP-035 Platinum Super Stainless
Old Spice Whitewater a/s lotion

Decent blade. No problem slicing through the hairs and my top lip easily.

Whitewater aftershave is good.

Gillette Slim Adjustable
Astra Superior Stainless (2)
Vie Long 13061
Proraso white soap
Proraso Crema liquida dopobarba

Although it doesn't contain any citrus scent, this soap sort of fulfils my citrus cravings. Proraso soap is definitely my must-have.

Pre: Proraso Pre/post white
Cream: Proraso Red & MWF
Brush: Tubby 2
Razor: Weber DLC
Blade: Perma Sharp SS (1)
Post: Alum and Blightys Punchinello Blam

Close shave with a couple of nicks on the neck but nothing too major. First time using Proraso Red and wasn't too sure of the smell but made a nice lather with the MWF.

I've taken my first delivery of Rapira's (the pink and blue ones) so today was my chance to check them out.

Proraso preshave
Proraso soap, face lathered with BK2
EJ 89 / Rapira
TOBS Gentleman's aftershave
Boots no. 7 balm

Lovely smooth shave - very nice blade indeed. I would compare it favourably with my Personna platinum blades. Looking forwards to another go!

Wednesday 10th September

Hot Shower and Facial scrub
3P Pre/Post Shave Cream
Feather Artist Club SS
Shavemac Pure Badger
Monsavon Soap
Home produced Toner (based on apple cider)
Lilac Vegetal
Unrefined Shea Butter
Morgans Classic Cream

An excellent shave

Weber Bulldog DLC
Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless
Simpsons Duke 2 Best
MWF
Proraso Post Cream (Old Formula)
Witch Hazel Gel

Awesome shave, every time i go back to my DLC, i wonder why i ever use anything else!

If i didnt like variety, i could quite happily have the DLC as my only razor.

Razor+blade:Merkur 37G+Elios (3)
Brush:Kimson silvertip blond horn
lather:Cyril R. Salter "Wild Rose"
AS: Dr. Harris "Pink" aftershave
EdP:Les parfums de Rosine "Rose d'homme"
Comments: My aim today is to get the lazy man's lather,....then I chose a big 28 mm silvertip and an easy shaving cream without taking care of the quantity,....and it's done, lather for 3 faces,....Furthermore with a rose scent, but not fresh rose petals, Cyril R. Salter's "Wild Rose" is not wild, it's a domesticated, dead and dried rose scented shaving cream. But fortunately the Dr. Harris "Pink" it is, the true rose scent is present, but it last for minutes, or seconds....but nice seconds indeed. Finally a rose cologne, not a fresh rose scent that could be girlie but a well known rose "blend" with leather and wood, classy, deep, in the way of Guerlain's "Habit Rouge" or Rochas's "Globe" , not for wearing flip-flops and shorts

Ikons OSS
Supermax Blue Diamond (1)
Neep Coral Sandstone
Sir Irsch Moos stick - face lathered
Witch hazel
Institut Karite balm

Much better shave tonight. Great mooing lather and these blades are pretty damn smooth considering they are budget ones. I'm impressed.
