Saturday Morning

Still working my way through the Chinese pif blades.

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream : TOBS Eton College
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Best Badger
Razor: Feather AS-D1
Blade: Super Gillette Blue
A/S: TOBS Eton College

A lovely BBS Shave this morning, this is a really nice blade, sharp and smooth. I think I prefer this over my normal Thai Gillette Super Thin blade.

Saturday 6th October 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: Schick Type E
Blade: Personna Stainless Coated
Brush: Turkish No. 6
Soap: Cella
Aftershave: Dove Sensitive Balm

A much better shave this morning with the coated blade, same closeness minus the weepers!

Regards
Dick.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Kosmo by Muhle
Razor: Wade and Butcher "for barbers only"
Soap: Nannys French Lavender
AS: La Toja
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D
Ahh! :D This large and rather soft knot/brush sure is sweet and under rated brand, I think. Works with a soft hard soap, but best for creams.

Cold prep
Proraso pre/post
M&F blonde badger
Himalaya glycerin soap (from Soap Opera)
GEM open comb Micromatic
Steve's Bay Rum AS
C&E Nomad ASB

Great shave - both razor and soap are just amazing. Razor shaves differently than GEM's bar version, more like a straight really; will be using it a lot. And the soap - it's probably well on its way to becoming my favourite. Rich protective lather and outstanding skincare. Just wish its scent was a bit stronger as it's really pleasant but very subtle.

Yesterday shave:

And today shave:

From these shaves I must say:

- I think that the best way to use MWF soap is in stick and passing it through your bear, without doubt. You'll never have any problem facelathering it lather.
- Merkur 20c handle fits better with a Gillette Tech head, even better than its original one (that will be from now to my UFO handle, hehe)
- this small Omega boar is a superb buy: after some uses, is going better and better for facelathering.

Cheers!

All this recent reading about aggressive razors musta been the reason I got this guy outta the arenal this morning. Figured I'd see how my technique was holding up with this large bloodsucker.

Anyway, the shave was fine. Not all that uncomfortable, although I did feel the blade on my face quite a bit. Went a little slower than usual, with shorter passes and a shallow angle. This is one of them no pressure razors.

Left me with a very smooth face and no weepers. Ok....got that outta my system for a while.

Here's a few pics, with the Big Fellow next to a 1940s superspeed.
