What a nice razor, flea market find?
 
First shave after 2 weeks (been sick):
- TOBS Mr.Taylor cream
- EJ Black Badger brush
- Gillette Fatboy with a SuperMax blade
- Barbon AS

Made a W-X-A 3-pass with 9-5-3 setting and my beard was gone ;)
 
Tuesday Evening:

  • - Le Tuft Urban Hermit's ReSyke razor with Gillette Tech razorhead
    - Super Silver Mem Platinum blade
    - Truefitt & Hill Authentic No 10 shave cream
    - Vie Long 12705 natural horsehair brush
    - Thayers' Lavender witch hazel
    - Truefitt & Hill Authentic No 10 cologne/balm ASB

... not too bad for a platinum blade. The Tech razorhead probably helped a fair amount with that. This cream is pretty good, but I'm not too sure yet about the balm - Time shall tell, most likely, as Time is a bloody awful tattle-tale some days.

 
Tonight:

Hot shower
TOBS lemon and lime cream, face lathered with
New Forest T2
Jagger DE89, with
Gillette 7OC Yellow (8)
KoS balm

Three/four passes as usual, zero bloodspotting on an exploratory tissue, utterly comfortable, smooth and clean. I must admit that when I started I expected, based on how much longer I got from a cartridge than most, to get at least a couple of weeks from a blade, but the boots Personnas didn't - seems like these might though. Remarkable.
 
Wednesday

Decided to risk a a/s splash this morning. Face feels great, but I worry about my nose/head/sinuses.

First use of the cream, performed well with a good lather and a pleasant scent. Can catch a whiff of it now and then. I think its one of those that some would love and others would be put off, but it'll do for me

3 passes: smooth, no irritation, almost no tingle from the alum.
I love using my other razors but when I come back to this one, I do sometimes wonder why I bother changing..?
Variety is the spice of.. etc.. etc.. I suppose.
 
Wednesday

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Henks 21 mm silvertip
Razors: C V HEljestrand B K 42 + Aristocrac no 15
Super lather: Al´s Custom´+ Provence Santé
AS: Ogallala Limes and Pepercorns
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very close :D
This blade doesn´t mess around, 1/4ish, stiff and more close to a kamisori blade in the feel (I think) than a western blade. Super nice lather too, they worked well together.
