Edwin Jagger DE89
BIC Platinum Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Cella
Bulldog asb

Last trial shave for the BIC, but it's probably got another shave left in it. It's not the best blade that I've used, but it's not the worst. I can't see myself stocking up on them, if I'm honest.

Abundant lather and fresh scent from the nice soft soap Sharon makes, the Filly removed stubble effortless and the new L'Occitane shea butter hard balm came in handy at the end (I rubbed it in my palms and then directly onto my wet face). I can imagine this balm will do wonders in the upcoming rough North European winter (if I'm still here, of course...)

Re: RE: Shave of the day W/C Saturday 20th August 2011

No shave yesterday, as I wasn't going out. This morning:

Bulldog face wash
Erasmic stick, face lathered with
New Forest Tubby 2
'58 super speed, with
Gillette 7OC yellow (7)
Bulldog moisturiser

Excellent lather this morning and a very enjoyable, fairly close shave. Blade just beginning to show its age, so I'll try the as-yet-unused (by me, that is) Rocket with a fresh one tomorrow.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
1970s Schick M type injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Creed 'Royal Oud' EdT

Seems like I'm sorta caught in the injector loop once again. Dialing down one number compensates for how sharp this blade is, and it's tempting to just stay with this combo and skip the DE experience for now. We'll see how long this particular monkey sticks around.

BBS results,

Martin

Razor:Henckels Friodur 17
Strop:handmade Cowhide 50
Preshave: Truefitt&Hill Ultimate Comfort shave oil
Brush:Simfix Super Badger 2 Band
lather:Al's shaving "the Bomb" shaving cream, Palermo
AS: Mennen Green Tonic
EdT:Floris Limes
Comments: A shave without problems today, all the stuff is very known to me, and I feel comfortable using everything, from the vulfix Grosvenor handle filled with Simpson's superbadger hair, to the efficient Henckels Friodur one of my favs in 7/8. The Al's cream gives and excellent lather and the fresh of the citric scents that I like in summer, in this way I finished with the limes of Mennen and Floris. Excellent!
