L'Occitane Cade ASB

A few firsts today...

NF2201
Mama Bears tassi lavender soap
HD Rocket with a gillette green
Jovan Musk aftershave/cologne splash

First try of a Mama Bears soap, and I like it.

The Jovan Musk, is it an aftershave, or is it a cologne, or a colognashave, either way it's great.

Friday

EJ DE 89L
Crystal (2)
Wilky Sword Bristle
C&E Sandalwood Soap

EJ Sandalwood ASM

Three pass, bowl lathered

Shave of the week, superb! The Wilky brush is absolutely terrific with hard soaps and bowl lathering - go on, try it - giving a nice Autumnal feel this morning.

Everyone is on holiday so I'm in the office with my latest CD (The Music of Eric Coates) playing away merrily; I have a real soft spot for British "Light" music and this guy is the master of the genre.

Good morning.

Start of liberation shave.

Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple
Neil Miller linen/English bridle strops
Omega No. 34
Al Raz 'Palermo', face lathered
L'Occitane Apricot shea butter balm
Miller Harris fleurs de bois

SOTD_26Aug.jpg

I don't think this shave cream is best when one face lathers and I also don't think its scent is one of my favorites. It lathers well, though (test bowl lathered it the other day), and also offers good glide. The L'Occitane shea butter balm continues to impress and the Miller Harris fragrance tied up nicely today with the grassy Al Raz cream and the Apricot after shave balm.

Off this Sunday for a month's holiday back home after two very hard and literally awful years here.

Cubert, I like Jovan and use it regularly, I think its a cologne as its strong in scent and lasts. I wouldnt like to splash it all over like a lotion, would be a room clearer :icon_razz:

For me today:

EJDE89
Gillette Yellow (2)
Vulfix Mix
Proraso cream
Proraso Balm
Black Suede EDT

Excellent results.

Friday

Shower L'Occitane Soap Pour Homme

3P Pre Shave
Klar Kabinett Shaving Soap
Simpsons Beaufort B1
Slim Adjustable set to 3
Gillette Platinum (4 !! )
Trumpers Rose Skin Food
Cella Lavande

I have given up on Shower Gels and it's a block of soap now. Nice stuff the L'Occitane, foams up lovely with the soft Devon water.

The Klar Kabinett is so slick it always performs, but the lump is getting smaller and smaller :-( I usually change the blade after three shaves and didn't realise until writing this it was on it's fourth shave. A lovely close shave.

Friday

Edwin Jagger DE89
Crystal Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Provence Santé Soap
Alum

Another below par shave. I won't be using Crystal blades again.

Friday

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Polo
Razor: TI, special edition
Soap: Mama B Rose
AS: Dr Harris, Sandelwood
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

This is a nice razor, special made for a French shaving group - only 80 made with a worked/decorated back, spanish point, ½ hollow (cutting edge rather short at under 2 ½ inches, but it's still a meaty blade) and I think the oak scales are the same as on the latest Wing TI, the "G". :D

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
1970s Schick adjustable M type injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (NOS)
Penhaligons Racquets SC
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Tom Ford 'Amber Absolute' EdP

BBS results,

Martin

This morning's effort:

Bulldog face wash
Trumper's Sandalwood cream, face lathered with
New Forest Tubby 2
Gillette Rocket, with
Gillette 7OC yellow (2)
Trumper's Sandalwood skin food
Trumper's Sandalwood cologne

I'd forgotten how incredibly slick this cream is :). Careful observers may be able to detect a theme running through this excellent shave, I suspect.

Thursday

Omega 49
Tabac, bowl lathered
LD Rocket
Astra SP
Nivea ASB

Friday

Omega 49
Nanny's Sandalwood, bowl lathered
Flare tip Rocket
Astra SP
Nivea ASB

First shave with the flare tip. This one is very aggressive, more blade exposure than my HD Rocket. I think I could come to like it though.

Been ages since I reported a shave on here so here goes!

Prep:- Hot shower

Music:- Radio 2

Soap:- TOBS Sandalwood shave cream

Brush:- Edwin Jagger best badger

Razor:- Muhle R101

Blade:- Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow (new)

Post shave:- Aloe Vera.

Eeeeek! The Muhle is going to take a bit of getting used to! It is a lot more aggressive than anything I've used in the past.......... I've picked up a few nicks as well.

I'll be a bit more careful next time, I'm sure I'll get used to it............

Prep-Hot shower
Razor-Sheraton O/C ( last day with the monkey now is packing its bag ready to back home)
Blade Shark Super Stainless (3)
Brush- Neep Elite
Palmolive cream (finished the tube)
Speike A/S
Been a bit of a ride with this razor, very similar to my Popular. But different enough, glad I got the chance to try it out...........thanks to Marvin the monkey owner....:icon_razz:
Great smooth shave, no irritation and no nicks. But the blade started to tug a bit at the end of the shave so in the bin it went.
Am thinking I maybe Fazan day tomorrow..........:icon_evil::icon_evil:
