:icon_eek: A bit of razor burn tonight.........

I used a razor that I have not used for a long time, with a blade that I have never used in that razor before........

Prep:- Shower

Soap:- MWF

Brush:- Vulfix 404

Razor:- Merkur Slantblade

Blade:- Wilkinson Sword

AS:- Alum block & Bluebeards Revenge AS balm

It was a close shave, maybe a little too close in parts hence the razor burn! With hindsight I would probably have used a different aftershave balm, probably my Nivea sensitive.

Tuesday nite
Late nite shave compliments of one of or stellar TSR participants. Received a number of items from the UK that I had never experienced. The ones that I used tonite were: Gillette Nacet razor blades(Russia) and Erasmic supreme, shave stick(England). Both met my expectations. The Erasmic was a little surprising, used a sliver in a a shaving bowl and it started a little thin but once a I got it on my face and started to lather it there, wow it thickened right up and made a great lather.
Preshave: Noxzema plus
Razor: Merkur Futur
Razor Blade: Gillette Nacet
Soap: Erasmic supreme stick
Aftershave: Masters Bay Rum
Very nice shave, Futur set at 2.5

Bit of a feather bite on the neck but other than that , smooth.
 
Only just got round to trying out my new Slim Adjustable this morning.
2 shave old Shark blade.
Palmolive stick onto the chops.
Face lather.
Never used an adjuster before, so started at 3, then onto 5 for my WTG.
Then onto 7 for XTG.
Then tried the 9 for a couple of local areas (side of chin where growth it thickest) and decided it was too agressive for me, so went down to 7. Seemed a bit too agresive still, but forced me to be very light. I usually apply a bit too much pressure without realising. old habits die hard.
Then a finish off with Proraso Post cream.

Nice close shave. So happy with my new razor.

Well the first time using this razor since I gave it a light restore, after a lucky bid secured this for me on the Bay, in fact the first time the razor as ever been used by anyone or honed for that matter, because it was unused in the original box. It gave up a very nice shave, I think I will put away as more of a collectable, such a rare item to find a 70 year old razor unused with the original box and instruction leaflet. Two pass shave minor clean up feeling good.

With all the turmoil here and the silly things our PM continues to do, who has time to think about shaving choices... Whole ritual was interrupted twice (call from S'pore and then the DHL man bringing another package from Shaving.ie) - a fair shave nonetheless.
