SOTD - Wed
Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Van Yulay "Durham Green"
Brush: Orchid Isles Curly Koa handle, Shavemac 23mm D01 Silvertip
Razor: OneBlade
Blade: GEM PTFE Stainless (8)
Post: Thayer's witch hazel, followed by Alt Innsbruck
Great lather provided by the "Soap of the Gods". A very soft soap/croap with an mild green tobacco scent. The post-shave skin conditioning of this soap is off the chart! I don't need to use a balm at all.
This Gem blade just keeps on going. Super smooth shave with just a slight amount of tugging. I should be able to push this blade to 10 shaves and finish the week with it.

Wednesday!
  • Prep: hot shower and linseed oil
  • Brush: 1940's Travel King boar
  • Soap: TSD lavender & rose stick
  • Razor: Gillette ball end tech
  • Blade: Personna red
  • Shave: 3-pass + touch-up
  • Post: cold water rinse, alum
  • Result: BBS! :)
The TSD stick lathers up nice and quickly and the lather is rich and creamy. The Gillette did an impeccable job as usual.

Happy Shaving, all!

Great blades this vintage ones, knock spots of the current Personna's. Super smooooooth shave, only planned on 2 pass, but couldn't resist a 3rd!:D BBS with just a little AS sting.
Injectors really should be used with NOS blades - time to stock up!

I felt rather GQ this morning as I used my "vintage" Emporio Armani shaving set from the 1980's.
The razor got fitted with a vintage Atra blade and the shave went really well. I rather liked it but I can't see if becoming a frequent razor in my rotation.
I didn't use the brush this time as this month I am doing a "New Forest brush"-focus where I try out a new NF brush every time I shave.

Razor and brush (NF Faux horn - the only NF handle that I know of that is translucent) that was used:

Trying to show the translucency a bit below:

A really focussed shave today as using a 1924. Pleased that it was trouble free , and relatively smooth with a top grade finish.
