Shave of the last 2 weeks
Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: T&H Lavender, TOBS sandalwood, Cade cream, C&E Nomad cream, La Toja stick
Bowl: Collapsible silicone dog bowl
Brush: MÜHLE HJM synthetic
Razor: Merkur Progress @3, 2.5, 2
Blade: Sputnik, 7 o'clock yellow, Rapira SS
After: Aqua Velva Sport AS, Nivea ASB, C&E Sandalwood ASB, Coral skin food

Been on my jollibobs for the last couple of weeks so had to make do with my travelling gear. I have to say I don't think it was much of a compromise. The HJM was not a problem to use, the dog bowl functioned ok for lathering and the Progress, as always, gave a reliable shave.

I had to use up some Hong Kong dollars so purchased a tube of L'occitane Cade cream and some Crabtree and Evelyn goodies at a 70% discount! So I wasn't short of a few creams to try.
I did get a bit bored of the Progress, I never normally go for more than a week with the same razor. Thing is the the Progress if so reliable it gets a bit boring. I broke out the ATT R1 this morning and wow things got fun again, terrifically smooth shave.

Laser Stainless (1)
Wickham Soap Co SS
Bond Fresh a/s

the ej always takes me by surprise - it takes me half a shave to get the angle right but i always get a great shave from it. The laser was decent too. the combo of the 2 made for an uncomfortable 1st pass though. Lovely smell from this Polish aftershave, reminds me of Floris JF.

Greetings,

Razor: Schick L1 Injector
Blade: Gillette Twinjector

A super close shave, these are the sharpest injector blades I have ever used.

These blades are if anything, too sharp, in the same way that Feather DE blades are for me, I need (even with this very gentle razor) to shave slower and more carefully and this is a razor that with a standard personna stainless coated blade fitted you could 'throw' around your face in a totally reckless manner without any fear of weepers or nicks; not that you would want too.

The blades are two super thin blades electro spot welded together in three places along the blades centres, they are also incredibly easy to damage inserting them into the razor.

A fascinating experience, a blade to reserve for a special occasion eg. a dinner invite from The Queen!

Regards
Dick.

What's up buddy,

Yeah, it's important finding the right blades.......just like a DE razor. Of course, in those tacky SE things you just use the same blades as painters would use I think....

I kept one of those dispensers and still have some blades left. Gillette made good blades back in the day. Glad those fit you so well.

Martin
