SOTD w/c Sat 14th - Fri 20th incl.

Spring is coming.

Nanny's soft soap produces superb lather - this is the Yushu. The vintage Gillette plus red personna gave a comfortable close shave.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 Macys badger
1970s L type Schick injector/Schick Stainless Steel (NOS)
Nannys cedar/vetyver hard SS used as a stick
Kramperts Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum AS
Aramis 'Havana' EdT

BBS results,

Martin

Nanny's Ice and a Slice Hard Soap
Semogue 610

So far, no aftershave or EDT because I'm still (even now) enjoying the freshness and the tingliness of the Ice and a Slice. I like the scent, reminds of Goths and Halloween - not sure if that's the intention, but it's nice.

Very smooth shave

Wednesday:
Still getting by with my Gillette Fusion and foam out of a tin and my face hasn't burst at the seams or spontaneously combusted.

Which is nice.

Well not sure what I expected.
Received a tube of Nivea shave cream- Greek yesterday and tied it this morning. After letting it set it did lather up nicely but... No fragrance at all! The package is all in Greek so I'm not sure if that the way it should be! Well
Razor: Futur
Blade: Bic. Not really happy with that brand either!
Brush: Boar
Soap: Nivea Cream :)-(?? Greek
Aftershave: Masters Bay Rum
Not my best Shave Day.

Are you sure? I think your moustache might be smoking.

In all seriousness, I think a lot of us went this route for interest and diversion and pleasure, not because their heads were exploding. I never had any complaints about my shaves, certainly.

Anyway. This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (2)
Soap: La Toja stick
Brush: Vie-Long Horse 13070
Balm: Bulldog
Scent: Trumper's GFT
Result: excellent: close, comfortable and unmarked.

No brown drips from the brush today. Nothing like as long a soaking, mind you.

Shower, Boots No7 Face Scrub
Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Pre Shave Oil
Edwin Jagger Pure Badger
Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar Cream
Merkur 34c HD
Feather
Geo.F. Trumper Alum Block
Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar Balm

Bit keen them feathers like...

Wednesday

Joseph Elliot near wedge
Maca Root Cream
Simpson 57
Alum
Pashana Original AS
15qdhky.jpg

My oldest razor and my only wedge. I don't use it often as prefer hollow grounds partly because I can hear the shave better, if that makes sense. None the less a dam fine shave, wasn't aiming for BBS, and got clean close and comfortable.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest silvertip knot in old barbers handle
Razor: Max Sprecher
Soap: Floris, no: 89
AS: Floris, Elite
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Excellent :D

Floris soap seems to have a narrow sweet spot, but it's a nice soap never the less, I think - good cover, nice scent and overall good quality, in short.
