Schick I-type injector with Gillette Platinum Plus blade
Geo F Trumpers Almond shaving cream
Boots freshwood a/s balm

Third shave with this blade. First pass and I realise how much stubble this cuts through on the first pass without being aggressive. Second pass gets me a close shave but shows blade is losing its superior sharpness. Still very good though.

Merkur 38C PIF from IanM
Astra Superior Platinum Blade
EJ Super Badger Brush
Trumpers Almond Cream
St James of London Mandarin and Patchouli post shave Gel

This was my first shave with the Merkur 38C and must say it was my best shave ever.
This Razor is great and I feel mega lucky to have got it.

And it should last a lifetime!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields 2 band badger
1958 Executive/Schick Super Platinum (NOS)
IK SS used as a stick
Kramperts Finest Bay Rum AS (another new to me home made product that's quite nice)

Got out this vintage blade that I'd been saving for a while. Tried one of these a while back and loved it, but didn't want to burn through the last two in the pack. Having just won a small lot of these excellent blades I figured I'd splurge while waiting for the latest ones to arrive.

Man, these are as good as I remember em being. Very sharp and very forgiving...this could easily be my everyday blade.

BBS results,

Shower
Avon Face Wash with tea tree extract
Edwin Jagger Best Badger
Palmolive Stick
Merkur 34c HD
Gillette 7 O'clock SharpEdge
Alum Block
Boots Freshwood Balm

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (4)
Soap: Proraso green
Brush: Vie-Long Horse 13070
Balm: none
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
Result: close and comfortable but one small nick on jawline

Rubbish lather after the first pass - this brush doesn't seem to generate a lot to start with or hold much, and it really doesn't hold much water. I think it will be the one I use on trips where I would have used my synthetic, but I can't see it unseating the 404, let alone any of my badgers. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
