SOTD : Saturday 5th March - Friday 11th March 2022.

Happy Birthday, sir!

Happy birthday Lee. All the best.

Few shaves missed posting as I am either busy or getting grief from Mrs D.

Sunday was a nice relaxing one
Did the first pass with the shavette and actually managed my whole face without incident. It's just taking me too long and Mrs D whinges, so I swap to something a little quicker.

Monday, flare tip again with a Minora, using Løthur Oregon.

Tuesday, decided I should make a dent in the Parker blades that came with the InjRzr and add I can't manage to get them to load in my Schick InjRzr it was. A bit of Apogee for a nice slick shave.

Good week all

And to confuse matters - yours has slightly different packaging, as in the mention of menthol on the front. I guess it doesn't really matter - somebody makes it, that's the important thing! As to Simpson brushes I agree with you - best is best. - cheers - I.

@LeeMaz - happy birthday mate, I hope you are having fun.

Tuesday 8th March

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
Vitos Classic Supercrema Shaving Soap
Omega 10098 Boar 27mm
Yaqi SE DLC & Treet Power (Super)
Brut Splash-On

Another shave with the Treet Power (Super) and I think I understand it now ...

I have said that it's in the same ballpark as the Classic, and it is, but it also has a subtle and slightly different feel to it which is something that I found with the New Steel blade. I think (and this is conjecture, but pieced together from what I've found out) that this blade also has a polymer coating, which I gather the New Steel has. The blades are clearly based on the Classic (while the New Steel and New Edge are thinner) and while the Classic suffices with a PTFE coating, the New Steel (and I think this Power (Super) also) has a polymer coating. Both of those blades gave a similar feel to a Derby which has mutiple coatings. It's something I sensed after the shave.

The Tez (Extra) though, is the Classic ... I'm sure of that. Possibly given a slightly better strop, or somthing, but not to the same degree of finishing that the Durasharp exhibits. I mentioned the New Steel and the New Edge as well from recent shaves - these, I think, are thinner than the Classic and the Durasharp (and these Tez & Power blades) and I think the New Steel gets the full double coating treatment while the New Edge is finished like the Classic; just thinner.

I'd have a Classic or a Tez (Extra) any day of the week. Not so much the New Edge and probably pass on another shave with either the New Steel or the Power (Super).

Tomorrow, the TJAX! Sounds like an Anime hero!

Soap = Pinnacle Grooming Emperor ( Sample )
Splash = Nivea 2 Phase

Absolutely Cracking shave tonight with a blade iv had for months but couldn’t be bothered using.
And what a surprise it was.
I had it in my head i wasn’t going to like it before i started yet i couldn’t fault it. hopefully the next couple of shaves will be the test.
That’s me back in Norway, not for long hopefully
5-10 days then back home.
I brought a limited amount of gear as i always bring to much.
To much everything really so back with the samples
Seems a good idea at the time to get rid of a few.
Nightshift for me tomorrow so movie time,
need to try stay awake a bit
Onwards & Upwards

Happy belated birthday Lee

Wed 9 SOTD
Soap Stirling Glacial Peach
Brush BOTI 26mm Fan Silvertip
Razor RazoRock G37 Slant
Blade Sharp Star 4th
Aftershaves Stirling Witchhazel Orange Chill + A&E Peach & Cognac
This is the only 1 among various Stirling Soaps I owned, the scent was a letdown...hahaha. The lather however is perfectly creamy and slick with an icy sensation!
One of my top & efficient razors paired with this blade was perfection! Really good blade. 3 smooth comfortable and efficient passes for a bbs finish without any issues. The aftershaves were great!

Belated birthday wishes , Lee

Belated birthday greetings.

SOTD 09-Mar

Brush: Wolf Whiskers Boti 2-Band
Soap: Mammoth Hygge
Razor: Blackland Era SB (Lvl 5)
Blade: Nacet (1)
Post: Mammoth Hygge Splash

First outing with the Era level 5 SB, nice and smooth but seemed to be very efficient. Two passes and a couple of buffs under the chin no more needed, nice smooth finish. It's a few steps below the blackbird in terms of aggression I think but it's early days to be giving full impressions. I'm eager to try out the tech and old type so I'll start to give it a proper run out in a couple of days for a week or so, but it seems to be a solid razor.

Hope everyone has a grand day!

Cheers

Marc
