SOTD : Saturday 26th June to Friday 2nd July 2021.

PS-Proraso
Brush-ES Trafalger
Soap-Signature Lindis*
Blade-Gillette Black
Razor-See Picture*
AS-Lavender Oil (dilute)

* Not used this soap before but it certainly produced copious lather.

*Poking through the odds and sods box produced this marked Gillette England. Not sure if the head and handle are as is or a bastard pairing? It certainly performed well with the Gillette blade. Any thoughts as to its parentage? Thanks.

Friday

TGGR Highland Bothy
RazoRock BC 24mm Silvertip synth
Face lather
Mühle R41 on OSS iKon
Gillette Nacet (4)
GFT Eucris EdT

Inspired by the Gothic revival and Expressionism in here recently, I thought two of the ‘darker’ accoutrements might be worthy of an outing today.

The Highland Bothy is a cedary, Vetiver-esque number, with a lovely campfire smoke scent. It pairs very well with the tenebrous, eldritch qualities of the Eucris.

I’m now off to source a black cloak, with red velvet linings. If it weren’t for the travel restrictions, I’d also procure some empty boxes for my native soil.

Still to master climbing down my wall upside down, though.

Gillette Thin Handle Tech, maybe? If so, vintage 1940s.

Razor = Feather AS-D2
Blade = Astra Superior Platinum Green ( 1 )
Brush = The Darn Robb 24mm Boar
Soap = OSP Sandalwood
Splash = Boots Freshwood
Balm = Nivea Skin Energy

What A Difference A Year Makes
Brilliant shave for me today
and up there with the best.
I haven’t tried the Astra blades for over a year
purely because my first shave wasn’t the best.
Second time around i can see why people like them and i’m now no different.
My wife keeps telling me to stop buying rubbish and after today’s shave i asked her what her thoughts were on the scent,
She loved it and asked what it was
when i told her it was aftershave from Boots The Chemist i got the weird look of oh your right it is nice lol.
Now i’m getting told to stop buying expensive & go cheap :ROFLMAO:
Woman Ah you just can’t win.
Working abroad most of the time i’m limited to what i can take but i have to say there was two soaps i was craving
This one & Mitchells Wool Fat.
This is the only OSP i have but definitely getting more soon
Very Soon
