Another fantastic shave.
i don’t know why but i was getting fed up with these blades but since i started using it this week it’s been superb,
A straight 10/10 every shave,
Stick it in a modern or a vintage it doesn’t fail to impress.
The 6th shave in my homage to Old Spice and probably the last
i’m getting fed up lol
I think i have one possibly two more clones i think but iv had enough of the same scent.
Plus i’m going away on friday so i’m pretty much blaming that for everything just now.
What to pack what not to pack
the dilemmas.
Any relatively new dude wanting to give Old Spice a go & haven’t tried it yet
gives these clones a try they are superb.
I wouldn’t pick one over another,
for me the scent is there & i love the twist that these guys put on them.
One possibility two more shaves here before i disappear for a couple of months
God i can’t be arsed
Stay Safe Boys

Brush: Highlander Chubby
Soap: SW Fougère Nemeta
Razor: Fatboy
Blade: Wizamet
Post: SW Fougère Nemeta AS

Very nice smooth finish today, my old beat-up cheapy fatboy did the trick nicely. Nice scent off the Nemeta, stupidly I then covered any remaining post shave scent with the TEV TF Ombre Leather dupe, but then I do really like the dupe so not to worry. May even get some of the real deal at some point.

Smelling good and ready for the day, hope everyone had a grand one.

Cheers

Wednesday 14 June

The Pretenders famously sang about “brass in pocket“ but this morning for me it was “brass in hand”. Namely the brass Alpha Outlaw closed comb. Don’t think this is available any more although a copper one is. Quite a heavy piece but not overly so and is comfortable to use letting the razor do the work.
Fitted third use My-Blades and applied the Bay Rum. Don’t need much to get a good lather in fact too much results in a greasy smear which just clogs the blade. After brushing in liberally my face suddenly felt like it had been covered in ice. Never expected that but it was really pleasant and after 2 passes plus pick ups my face felt very smooth with no irritation at all.
Enjoy the day fellas!

SotD-14/06/23.

Another scorching day here☀️ so Continued with the fruity theme if you can call this SW set fruity, broadly I'd say .

1st use Of the Brassbird with the Lite plate.
A very different shave with this base
plate like chalk & cheese.
Not harsh like the standard offering.
You could use the razor as a daily driver in this guise.

Two pass shave no drama at all so very happy with that .

Pre: - Warm Shower & Steamed Towel
Post: - G.D. Rejuvenating Serum
Razor: - Brassbird Lite
Blade: - Razolution (New)
Brush: - Alpha Bronze G4 Synthetic (26mm)
S&S: - S.W. Grave Fruit II
EdP: - Issey Miake L'Eau De Issey

Happy Shaves To All .

An effective and quick shave.
These cartridges seem to take a lot off in one pass but then never quite get super-close even if I do two or more extra passes plus touch-ups.
More functional and less enjoyable than recent shaves.

Rating: 4 / 5

Razor: Unknown Gold and Wood GII style razor handle (three piece assembly)

Stirling Syn 26mm
MWF
Schick type “ O” Clone
Schick S/S Twin-Japan ( 1 )
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

A first today, as while loading a fresh blade somehow managed to pick up a second blade as cross loading and got a log jam. Managed to get old blade out with new blade partially loaded but misaligned, I had to discard that leaving the Razor with no blade, ensuring only a single blade ready for loading I was able to load the Razor with a fresh blade.
After a near disaster, the Shave went really well and after my recent skin problems I was able to get a hassle free quality finish and use an After Shave, rather than The Arko cream.

I have been feeling that my small brush collection is lacking in not having a decent boar brush. My last attempt with a boar, the Semogue OC, was a bit of a failure. With that in mind I bought an Omega 11137 and this brush, both of which feature regularly on gentlemen’s SOTDs (and the 11137 I have owned previously and rather liked it).
Today’s shave was excellent, in the end, on a par with yesterday’s R101 shave. Everything was going well through the first pass. The Omega brush had face lathered up a wonderful rich lather with the PAA soap. Then disaster I rinsed my face and the lather died on the brush as I applied it to my face. Oops. I reloaded the brush and the second lather was better than the first. I’ll be sure not to rinse between passes next time. Lesson learned.
