SOTD Sat 29th Sept to Fri 5th Oct 2012

Tonight

Brush: Omega 48 Boar
Soap: Cella
Razor: Weber DLC
Blade: 7 o'clock green (1)
Post: Blightys Punchinello balm

Result BBS.
The Cella lathered up beautifully with my boar. Had a great shave and didn't use my Alum block for a change, just the Blightys, and my face feels a bit better for it.

Givenchy Gentleman edt

Heh, I've got a 7 ounce NIB GG 'Soap in a Rope', still sealed in plastic wrap. Even then, there's lots of scent coming from the stuff. I believe it's from 1982. I can't bring myself to try it..........sheesh.

I'm pretty sure that frag was reformulated a while back.

Very nice smooth one this morning.I have a love hate thing with this razor. It has
given me both the best shaves and also some real bad ones. Today was a good one.

Tuesday:

Nanny's French Lavendar Soap
Semogue SOC Boar
Muhle R89/Weber Buldog
Gillette 7 o'clock Green (2)

Very nice shave, great products across the board. BBS results.

Rough shave today but left smooth again

Muhle R41
Semogue OC Boar
Gillette Silver Blue
Nannys Lavender
Sudocrem
Nivea Cream

Can't see this razor staying in my rotation, it goes against my shaving mantra of easy and effortless. It great on 3 day stubble but i can't justify keeping it for a few days use a month!

Tuesday 3rd September 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: ER 1912
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Vie Long 13061M Horse
Soap: Fume Lavender
Aftershave: RSC Balm

Not the most perfect shave, BBS finish but a little tenderness under the neck, this razor for some reason today felt a bit 'harsh' I am unable to put my finger on exactly why, although I did use a new blade.

Regards
Dick.

Pre Veleiro soap + Tati soap Spearmint in Old Spice mug + Omega boar + UFO U2 Long with Gillette Tech and Iridium Super #3 + Provence Santé splash + Herbíssimo balm

First time I use this Omega boar after some days washing it. It's still a bit "hard", but I could use it without much problems with this lovely scented soap.

A good shave, gentlemen!

Cheers!

Tuesday.

First Shave with the Chinese Pass around blades.

To maintain some consistency I plan on using basically the same kit for all the Chinese blades to give some comparison. I will use different scents, but will stick to TOBS Creams and Aftershaves. The same razor will be used, and the same brush. - EDIT, not the same brush as the knot has just fallen out of it :(

For reference normal blade is the Thai packaged Gillette Super Thin.

The first blade I have chosen from the Pass Around set is the Flying Eagle.

Prep: Hot Flannels
Cream: TOBS Mr Taylor
Brush: Neep 26mm Extra Silvertip in Kenya Soapstone
Razor: Feather AS-D1
Blade: Chinese Flying Eagle
A/S: TOBS Mr Taylor.

The first pass felt ever so slightly tuggy, but perfectly acceptable. This could have been down to poor prep as I only used a hot flannel this morning on my face, rather than 10 minutes in a hot shower.
The second and third passes were smooth and comfortable.

The result was a perfectly acceptable shave with no nicks or irritation, I could easily use these blades on a daily basis.
