Pre Prep + Myrurgia soap stick + Semogue 1335 + Merkur 20c with Iridium Super #4 + La Toja Manantiales splash with Proraso balm

First shave with this Merkur razor! It was good although the handle is too thin for my taste... When you get used to use a UFO handle sometimes this happens, hehe!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
1959 Fatboy.Schick Plus Platinum (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Barbershop Bay Rum AS
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (old black bottle)

Last few shaves I've used a new to me Fatboy that seems to be a little more aggressive than most others. Blade gap looks fine......possibly just a slight production run tweak. I've seen it before with other adjustables over the years, and all that's needed is setting the number down one. Funny how that works sometimes. Shaves fine, which is a relief........never know till you try it.

A nice shave with Uberlather made in my cappuccino cup

Razor: Masonic 18th century wedge from Sheffield in custom scales in Rams horn
Cream: Fitjar Neroli
AS: La Toja Manantiales
Strops: Neil Miller (who also made the scales)
Result: Very, very clean :D
Lovely razor, I'm always surprised by how much I like these old wedgies :D

Apart from the odd small nick, I seem to be getting on well with the SS/Pro combo. Face is a doddle - 1 pass WTG and a bit of touch up. Neck is a bit more tricky, and I'm still experimenting.

Sorry for not posting just of late, but have been soooo busy with things going on at the moment (school, DIY) :blush: but it hasn't stopped me from shaving thank goodness :angel:

To finish alum a bit of moisturiser and prof blightys puncinello aftershave.

Quite liking the profs scents as I've got a set of samples and I think there's only one scent I don't like

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Joseph Rodgers "The Favorite", restored by Jamie
Brush: Neep #1145 onyx chess pawn 26mm extra silvertip
Soap: Cella
Scent: Penhaligon's Juniper Sling

Either the razor's getting better as my stropping improves, or I'm getting better, or I'm getting more tolerant. Probably a bit of each, really.

Cella is just great.
 
Vitos almond shaving soap (love the smell of this stuff!)
Gillette long handled plastic baseplate nickel plated Super Adjustable on 4, 2 with Rhino blade (second shave)
Boots Freshwood aftershave splash (love the smell of this stuff, too, and throwing it on liberally!)

Rhino felt rougher than yesterday. Abandoned a shave with the Fatboy as it was draggy in that. Got a DFS result and threw out the blade. Every Chinese blade I've tried so far has been a two shaves and bin job.
