Refreshing and invigorating cold water shave using my new Feather Seikan blade. Sharp and smooth, certainly on a par with standard feathers. It'll be in for the rest of the week, so will comment on longevity then.

All the best,

Jon

Monday:

Professor Blighty's Harlequin soap
Semogue SOC Boar
Gem OCMM
Gem blade
Witch Hazel
Pinaud Clubman

Nice job. It's ages since I used The Prof's soap and I was reminded this morning just how good it is. Lovely smooth results.

Monday

Gillette HD Rocket
Red Personna SS (2)
Simpsons 'Wee Scot'
Yardley Soap (real vintage stuff)

Nivea ASB
Forest Fresh AS (as kept in my desk drawer in the office)

Three pass, face lather.

A better than splendid shave. This new (to me) razor is magnificent. It was a BBS yesterday and the same again today.

Yardly soap today also; I love this soap it lathers well and smells like the 'fifties' would have done and it's in a thin ply wooden tub. What's not to like?

The late great Jack Hawkins (complete with duffel coat of course) would have recognised my shave this morning.

A very happy fifties throwback today.

Decent lather but the blade dropped off drastically towards the end of the first pass. I stuck with it but only did two passes and touch-ups (touch-ups were next to useless by then, anyway). Decent blade but not stellar for me. Smooth over sharp, longevity average. Thanks to Dave B for the opportunity to try them.

Notes: Finished the razor on a big ole Llynn Idwal stone last night. I think I can push it a little further, just wanted to see how it shaved today and it took a little effort to get to BBS. Little to no alum sting too.
MdC soap is just amazing for me for face lathering - very user friendly and a very good result.
The MdC Camomile oil balm goes on a little thickly, almost like vaseline, but it is quickly melted by the skin to spread evenly and easily, so not much needed at all. An Initial shine fades as it is absorbed quickly to give a pleasantly smooth and relaxed feel. Quality.

Morning, everyone.

Monday:

Prep: Claus Porto Lime-oil face soap
Razor: EJ DE89 head with an iKon Bulldog handle
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (3)
Brush: Ecotools Bamboo Finishing Kabuki brush
Shave cream: Supermax
A/S: Homemade Kölnisch Wasser aftershave.
Cologne: Bronnley's Gentlemens Eau de Toilette

Some irritation on my lower neck, but again it disappeared quickly.
