muhle r41
derby
shavemac #25 silvertip
dr harris almond shave cream
myrsol agua balsamica/ 444
zino davidoff edt

decent shave, very close. 3 or 4 weepers but the cold water rinse and a once over with the alum block sorted that.

Sunday

First day with Creed's Green Irish Tweed

Pretty good shave today:

1970s Gillette Tech
Perma-Sharp Super Blade
Kent BK2 brush
Godrej Lime Fresh floor cleaner... I mean cream.
and the last few drops of Paco Rabanne XS aftershave.

I've never gotten along with the Tech, but today I got a really close irritation free shave with it. Happy Days.

Prep: King of Shaves face scrub - the bright green lime one
Cream: Body Shop maca root
Brush: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth ebony synthetic bristle
Blade: Shark super chrome
Razor: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Barley chrome
Post: Edwin Jagger sea buckthorn aftershave lotion.

Not a bad combination, the Shark blades work pretty well in the EJ razor. The new KOS face scrub needs a slightly larger amount than usual to get a reasonable scrub, but it is refreshing to use. It should go well with any citrus based shaving cream.

Sunday morning

Proraso pre - green
Omega 37 Boar
MWF
Merkur 37c slant (1st outing!)
Astras SP (1)
Thayer's peach witch hazel
Proraso AS lotion - green

The slant is as amazing as I've been hearing. Effortless, smooth shave with no nicks or irritation. It's my latest favourite razor.

Have a nice week,

Sunday:

Mitchell's Wool Fat
Semogue 2012 SE
GEM OCMM
GEM blade
Witch Hazel
TOBS Shaving Shop AS
Nivea Anti - irritation balm

Lovely job, BBS results.

Gillette Slim Adjustable
Israeli Personna (3)
Kent BLK8 silvertip
Speick cream
Proraso Aftershave lotion
Penhaligon's Castile

I defo have a preference for 3-piece razors. I find TTOs much more difficult to judge the best cutting angles with. The problem's probably that I rotate razors so often I never write dial in the technique. Decent enough shave, mind.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest, 2201 extra stuffed
Razor: C V Heljestrand M K 15
Soap: Floris no 89
AS: La Toja Manantiales
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

Peters New Forest brush got a bull tie today, it's a brilliant brush and all you really need in a brush, I think (if you don't want/like big ass luxury brushes, which I do, as well :D).

Sunday 17th February 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: Schick I1 Injector
Blade: Personna Stainless Coated
Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Soap: Tweex squeezed into a container
Aftershave: Floid Balm

Regards
Dick.

First proper straight shave today.

Shower and hot cloth.
Simpson Chubby 2 and Nannys Rose and Geranium soft soap - need to work on lather technique.
New (but shave ready) Dovo Natural Straight
Trusted EJ89 with Gillette Yellow to finish of the tricky bits.
Alum and Liz Earl moisturiser to finish.

Dabbled with a Shavette before but this was first proper straight shave - I bottled my top lip and gave up on the Adam's apple area - discretion was the better form of valour.
Over all felt more grabby than I was expecting. Probably technique. Closer than the shave gave the impression it would be, especially given I only did one pass. Overall still a little tender. Only a few blood spots.
It's not put me off, but I have a long way to go. Conscious incompetence achieved :)

Sunday 17th February

Hot Shower and Facial Scrub
Shavex Brushless Cream
Ford & Medley 333 5/8 Razor
Semogue SOC 2012SE Badger/Boar
Vitos Green Soap
Witch Hazel
Organic Shea Butter
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal
Morgans Classic Pomade
Brian's Own Moustache Wax
EDT to be decided later (before I go to work this evening)

This razor is the one I started on 15 months ago. It is still performing well having had touch ups only ......with paste and a couple of visits to a purple Welsh slate. I am beginning to wonder how it would perform if an expert rehoned it and I started again from scratch. An excellent shave on a beautiful day in Wales. Pity I have to work this evening :-(
