Fantastic. Nanny's soap combined with the Semogue is a great combination, the lather was great. OCMM was efficient as always.

Today's shave better than than yesterdays. I always get grand results with Ingram's cream and the big boar knot (still no handle :icon_rolleyes:) is the best at lathering it. Last go with the BIC today and in with a Rapira Swede plus a second shim to see if I can reduce the touch ups. Face feels great and with the Mr Taylor's scent lifting my senses, it was a real pleasure to greet the cool morning air.

Seriously considering flogging the Colonel, getting another 404 Bodger and pocketing the difference.

Enjoy the snow, chaps.

Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready 1914 Little Lather Catcher
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Soap: Vé-Gé stick grated into a container
Aftershave: RSC Balm

A very good shave but the Vé-Gé soap is only a moderate performer, it lathers well but seems rather dry with limited 'slip/glide' I found it last year in a Canarian supermarket, it is a non tallow soap made by Lascara, the company that maufactures the Lea products from Vitoria-Gastiez in the Basque country in northern Spain, it cost 85 Euro cents.

Dick

Witch Hazel Gel.

Nice irritation free shave. This is one of the few creams i can use without a
pre shave,very good performer.

Hot flannel
Proraso Pre, white
NF Tubby 1 brush
Nanny's soft soap, Teatree and Aloe Vera
Gillette Fatboy (setting 5), Gillette Super Thin improved stainless (1)
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave healer.

Very smooth shave... think I'm benefiting from tweaking my technique... less scraping = less irritation. I was supposed to rotate to a different razor today, but liked the Fatboy so much I'm sticking with it... may even prefer it to the Slim, but I'll get back on that one.
First time out with the Gillette Super Thins... they're up there with the good'uns in my humble opinion

Sunday

A couple of changes today, another Russian blade and time to start using some of the rarely used razors, this time an original iKon Open Comb, this is one of the first razors Greg ever made.

Prep: Hot Shower
Soap: Cella
Brush: Neep Aztec 29mm Extra Silvertip
Razor: iKon Open Comb
Blade: Lada Super Stainless
Balm: Barbershop Bay Rum

I had forgotten just how aggressive this razor is, certainly on a par with the R41, perhaps not the best choice of razor for trying a new Russian blade in. Good result though, very clean :)

I love that Neep brush, but was all out by the time I saw it on Rodney's website. Lucky you, lucky you. It's a beautiful piece.

The best shave I have EVER had to date.
Which ingredient made it so special, Steve?

Since you ask:

1) Not had the fatboy long, but I really got to grips with the angle and the feedback
2) Rapira SS blades... they really are worth the hype in my opinion
3) Bit of a change in technique... working out which way my beard grows... resulted in no touch-ups... getting to the bottom of that one, regardless of razor and blade
4) Nanny's soap... very forgiving and slidey... and I like woody scents
5) ... and I was in a good mood, just booked a holiday

Trying out a Gillette Super Thin tomorrow... let's hope the good form continues

+1 on the Rapira. Great blade
