Evening all

Tuesday 14th August, 2012

Hot bath
Schick Krona
Gillette Super Thin Platinum
MÜHLE Silvertip Fibre
Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn Cream

It would seem that I'm still sensitive to certain creams. The EJ cream is good, although I probably had a little bit to much water in the mix. My face felt on the edge of a burning sensation without actually burning if that makes sense. No after shave product, the EJ cream doesn't dry the skin out at all.

Just after midnight:

Prep: Hot shower
Razor: Myers & Son 6/8" hollow ground
Brush: Neep #947 yew ball and bobbin silvertip
Soap: Prof Blighty's Peppermint
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Yellow Ginger

Pleasant, but not so much "close" as "in the middle distance".

Wednesday:
Gillette Fusion ProGlide
Noxzema Foam

Off work for a couple of weeks so shaving is a bit 'as and when I can be bothered'.

Wednesday

Thiers Issard 11/16 "Le Grelot Form"
EJ Best Badger Brush
Musgo Real Shaving Cream
Thayer's Witch Hazel

Not bad. 1 WTG and 1 ATG. Much better result than yesterday, but getting the blade to move smoothly is a challenge.

Bluebeard's Revenge shaving cream
Fatboy on 5, 3 with Filomatic (second shave)
Wilkinson Sword Fx with Fx Diamond (second shave)
Lacoste a/s balm

I did a thorough shave with the Filomatic blade the other day and after the first pass it was obvious I'd killed it. A brief crank up to 9 was no better so finished off with a cartridge.

]GFT Limes Skin Food
Palmolive Stick
Goodfella Black
Gillette Super Thins
EJ Best
Liz Earle ASB

Nothing to write home about this morning.Still cant seem to get to grips
with this razor.

Greetings

Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
Blade: Modern GEM Coated
Brush: Omega 39 Boar
Soap: Boots Stick Milled
Aftershave: Wilkinson Sword Sensitive Balm

I received a new (to me) razor in the post from the USA yesterday the GEM Bullet tip, I did not pay very much for it and it is in superb condition, it was from one of the more reasonable e-bay sellers who only charged me 10 USD postage! I like the razor it is a gentler shave than my other GEM's/Ever Ready's but still seems very efficient.

Had a really poor time with my lather this morning I just could not get the Boots stick to lather properly and had to bin the lather and start again with Supermax cream, I've never had a problem with Boots soap before so it must have been my doing.

Regards
Dick.

Tuesday 14th August

Kit:
EJ DE89 barley handle
Morrisons own brand personna blade
Vulfix 404
TOBS Eaton Collage shaving cream
TOBS Eaton Collage aftershave splash
OSMA alum block.

I was in a rush Tuesday morning, had to get to rickmansworth by 8am and woke up late so rather than my usual leisurely shave I was on a quick 2 passer, however I had a new weapon in my arsenal but more of that later.
Let the brush soak while i showered.
Drip the brush dry and scoop a end of finger sized lump of cream into the middle.
Splash face with water that's as hot as i can stand.
Face lather, TOBS creams always lather up so easily for me (and their soaps are good too) and the brush is loaded enough for 3 good passes, plus a few touchups.
First shave is WTG to get the main growth out of the way.
Rinse with warm water and re-lather.
Now the secret weapon...
2nd pass is a purely ATG buffing pass, now if you have whiskers like depserate dan then this probably isn't advisable but if you have medium to soft whiskers then give it a go - i got BBS including several problem areas with no touchups at all.
Drain the bowl and final rinse with cold water.
Clean bowl while face drip dries.
A bracing once over with the Alum.
Rinse and clean brush and razor.
Pat dry face with towel.
Apply aftershave
Job done.
