No, even with a fresh English WS I find the No.58 draggy and not close. Still can't get the right angle. Given up on that. Like the Toggle but it is quite aggressive. On 1 it is very good.

Well hell, that's the strangest thing. I'm outta suggestions for the #58....heh. Pretty weird about the Toggle performance. I don't see much difference in the bite of that and a Fatboy.

Maybe the Toggle just felt aggressive after the 58. I can't explain how both feel for me. Maybe I get so used to my usual razors I find the muscle memory hard to learn.

Razor: GEM OCMM
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Vulfix 406 Boar
Soap: Palmolive and Palmolive Cream + Glycerine
Aftershave: Dove Sensitive Balm

A complete change of pace after a week shaving with injectors. A really superb shave with the OCMM about as close as it's possible to get and leave the skin!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage butterscotch #74 Made Rite badger
Progress/Iridium
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (old bottle)


Third shave with this razor/blade combo and it's been good. Set the Progress on a low number and the shave has been real pleasant. Certainly a razor I could use every day if needed.
