Pre Prep + Williams Aqua Velva shave cream + Kent BK8 Silvertip + UFO U2 Long with Merkur head and Schick blade #3 + Aqua Velva splash with LEA balm + Aqua Velva Eau de Cologne

Today I wanted an old barbershop scented shave, and Aqua Velva products are superb for this issue, hehe. A really good shave, I have found that Schick blades work very good!

Cheers!

Back to basics this morning, which I only realised after I had shaved. Apart from the Cream everything else was the same as my first DE shave.

After using my horse brush yesterday I decided a floppy brush could work so I used my EJ Black Badger, which was as bad as I remember, it took me ages to create a decent lather.
I also used my Merkur Futur which has been sidelined for a while, not any more, I still really like this razor and it gave me the best shave i have had for ages.

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream: GFT Eucris
Brush: EJ Black Badger
Razor: Merkur Futur set on 3
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
A/S: Barbershop Bay Rum
Cologne: GFT Eucris

Soap from Aleppo - Restored brush 18X45 TGN Silvertip Grade A - Merkur 37C Slant - Astra green #1 - Pre JASÖN - Gal for Men vintage shaving soap - Alum block - Thayers Original - ASB Speick - ASL Myrsol Antesol.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Feather AC SS
Feather Pro Blade
Edwin Jagger Silvertip Brush
Martin de Candre Shaving Soap

I think I'm beggining to get to grips with the MdC. You can get a great deal of lather from very little of it, so I suspect I've been overloading the brush.

Prep - Hot Towel, Palmolive S/S
Razor - Muhle '11 R41
Blade - Astra S/P
Brush - New Forest Tubby 1 Finest
Soap – Kent (MWF)
Cold Rinse/ Witch Hazel/ Musgo Real

Having not shaved since Sunday, I was feeling a little scruffy... Now I'm BBS...that was a definite feel good shave ;)

Speick shaving cream
Gillette No. 58/Toggle on 2, 1
English Wilkinson Sword
Proraso pre/post as post

No, even with a fresh English WS I find the No.58 draggy and not close. Still can't get the right angle. Given up on that. Like the Toggle but it is quite aggressive. On 1 it is very good.
Not tried Speick before and like it. Great lather, nice scent which I think smells of mint, tea and bergamot.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Joseph Rodgers "The Favorite", restored by Jamie
Brush: Neep #955 soapstone ball and bobbin silvertip
Soap: Prof Blighty's Rosewood
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Rosewood

My first stone Neep, my first honed straight, my first Blighty soap, and very good.

Wednesday:

First day in my new job, 3 days growth cleared with:

Merkur 37C slant
Voshkod blade
T+H Grafton cream
Rooney brush
Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Limes cologne

Pretty good, just a low risk 2 pass shave to look half decent. Nothing silly like WTG on my first visit to the new office, not worth even the small risk.

Well hell, that's the strangest thing. I'm outta suggestions for the #58....heh. Pretty weird about the Toggle performance. I don't see much difference in the bite of that and a Fatboy.

Sheeesh NTS, don't get all hinkey on me now.
