Prep: Shower
Razor: Schick G(8)
Blade: Personna Stainless Coated
Brush: Vie Long 13061M Horse

An excellent shave, these personna injector blades are for me the longest lasting SE blade I have tried.

Soap: Cyril R Salter Sandalwood

Nice to shave at home again, after a week in Turkey and a slight fever yesterday I'm feeling really good again :D

... had some really good shaves in Turkey, this guy was really good and I went there every second day, for a full Turkish shave (head and face, massage, burning things in the ears and you name it = 20 Turkish Lira/12 usd):

... and my worst nightmare came true in Turkey - my wife shaved me :icon_lol:

In that second picture, that lady looks as though she's about to take the top off a hard-boiled egg!!

Only been posting SOTDs sporadically of late, anyway today's -

Trumper almond soap
Vulfix Bodger
EJDE89L, Derby
Barbershop Bay Rum

Last time I used a Derby I got 3 very good shaves out of it. This 1 was a bit iffy. 2nd shave with it, both of which were only OK, won't be pushing it to my normal 3rd shave with a blade before replacement.

Boots Freshwood soap
Weishi 2300M Personna Super (Lab Blue)
Proraso pre/post as post

Very nice shave. The Weishi was a real change of pace. Worked well with this blade (I like mild razor+sharp blade, and they don't come much milder).

Saturday:

Afternoon, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto Lime face soap
Razor: EJ D89
Blade: Lord Super Stainless (1)
Brush: The Soap Shed Super Badger
Shaving Soap: Palmolive shavestick
A/S: Halston Z-14
Cologne: Halston Z-14

A fine start to the weekend.

Saturday Morning

Time to try out the Chinese Rhino blade today courtesy of NTS.

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream: TOBS Eton College
Brush: Neep Aztec, 29mm Extra Silvertip.
Razor: Feather AS-D1
Blade: Chinese Rhino
A/S: TOBS Eton College

A better shave than I was expecting. Having not shaved yesterday there was a fair bit of growth to get through and the first pass was a bit tuggy, it usually is with 2 days growth so nothing unusual there.
The next 2 passes were quite pleasant and the blade performed surprisingly well.

My Gillette Long Comb New arrived yesterday morning, courtesy of Jamie's very kind offer (thanks!!) so today was its first run out...

Hot flannels
Proraso Preshave
Speick Cream (bowl lathered) / Kent BK2
Gillette Long Comb New / Personna Platinum (WTG, XTG, ATG)
EJ DE89 / Rapira Blue'n'Pink (XTG, ATG)
DR Harris Marlborough Aftershave
Boots no. 7 balm

Result: face finally smooth after re-doing the last 2 passes of the shave. Cheeks and neck as red as a baboon's bum.

I think it's fair to say that I have misunderstood the angles I need to use with this new razor :) Any tips would be gratefully received - both in terms of technique and perhaps blade choice.

I will persevere with it - it's too pretty not to get right!

Saturday:

Cella
Semogue OC Boar
Ever Ready Streamline

Fantastic shave. First use of the Cade balm that I got a sample of yesterday. Fantastic scent and performance, I think I'll be buying some of this in the near future.
