Merkur 11C/Treet Durasharp
Frank Shaving Warwick in Silvertip
TOBS Coconut cream
Home prepared toner (based on cider vinegar)
Organic Shea butter
Morgan's Classic Hair Cream
James Bronnley Gentlemans EDT

3 pass BBS

Vitos shaving soap
Birth year Super Adjustable with Rhino on 5, 3
M&S Autograph a/s balm

These blades don't give me the horn in this razor. Sore and couldn't get close on the neck because of it and a lack of sharpness.

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream: Proraso Sensitive
Brush: EJ Super Badger
Razor: Gillette No.77 Open Comb
Blade: Derby Extra
Cologne: Superdrug Forest Fresh

Cheap and cheerful, but satisfying after a hard day in the orifice.

Nivea Face Scrub
Weber Bulldog DLC
Gillette SuperThin New Improved #2
Simpsons Duke 2 Best
Proraso Menthol Soap (New Formula)
Proraso Post Cream (Old Formula)
Witch Hazel Gel

Great Shave, i still had about half a small old proraso soap, but decided to try the new stuff, i prefer it, old formula now binned. still half of the old pre/post left before i start my big pot of the new stuff sometime next year.

Proraso Pre/Post (Original formula)
Feather Artist Club SS - Pro Blade
Simpsons Tulip T1
Nanny's Gentleman's shaving soap - French Lavender
Nivea Replenishing Aftershave Balm

Much better shave today - always a plus when you have a feather blade in your hand!

Pre-shave: Hot bath
Soap: Palmolive Stick
Brush: Edwin Jagger large silvertip
Razor: Ever Ready 1914 WW1 model
Blade: GEM single edge
Post shave: Cold water, Trumper scent-free moisturiser

Method: Face lather, one wtg pass followed by 2 xtg passes, one in each direction

Pretty basic shave today with no fragrances or fancy pre-shaves etc. The Jagger is a bit soft for face lathering. However I had an excellent shave; close with no irritation.

Funny how aggressive single edge razors give me less irritation than mild double edged razors.

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Dovo 5/8" "best quality"
Brush: Neep #1059 soapstone chubby 26mm super silvertip
Soap: L'Occitane Cade
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Green Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

Unfaultable.

L'Occitane Cedarwood Soap
Razor Dubl Duck Goldedge 6/8
Brush Bil Jack Le Tuft in Buckeyed Burl
GFT Coconut Oil Shaving Cream
Alum & Witch Hazel
Clinique Moisturiser
Creed Vetiver EDT

The daffy Duck delivered a super two pass BBS shave.

Wednesday 17th October 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: Schick Type G(8)
Blade: Personna Stainless Coated
Brush: Lijun Boar
Cream: T.O.B.S. Mr. Taylor
Aftershave: Wilkinson Sword Sensitive Balm

My first shave with a Schick G type, I certainly found this razor milder than the type E but it still had enough bite (aided by my ineptness) to put a nick into the large mole I have on my left cheek! Otherwise a really nice shave, I did have one more try with a vintage Schick blade but had to give up and change.

There may not have been many great advances in razors over the years but there certainly has been (IMHO) in blade technology especially in respect of coatings.

Regards
Dick.
