Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

Wednesday
Razor: Gillette Fusion ProGlide
Brush: Simpson Tulip 2 Super
Soap: D R Harris Lavender
After: D R Harris Pink
Cologne: Acqua Di Parma Colonia Assoluta

PIF'd the last 30g / 40g of the D R Harris Almond I'd been using for roughly six months so it's on to the Lavender until it runs out - Probably this time next year.

This was a wonderful combo, hadn't used Nanny's in a bit, and combined with Peters brush, it was a lather party on my face :p
After the shave, the Phyto stuff was very good, then once everything finished, splashed a bit of cologne on my face for good mesure!
(Todays shave made up for mondays disaster)

Mikael, you are acquiring a great brush collection!

I agree and always seemingly in a trade. With what and who are you trading with exactly?

Yes, I´m sure you want to know ... and you could, if you send me your Chubby 2 in two band

Seriously, these brushes has "cost" me some dearly beloved straights + all the planets where lying in their right positions and I did make my sacrifices to Oden and Thor. In short, I got hooked up with a brush collector who wanted more straights and less brushes :D

Nanny's Spicy One - new formula
Tabac aftershave

This ugly duckling razor always seems to do really well, and tonight there's no stubble left to feel in any direction. The no longer mysterious soap continues to impress me mightily, and I can't say I've noticed any loss of slip compared to the old version.

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

I never post in here.....don't know why really, but i had to share my shave results tonight, i have expensive Razors Vintage & Modern, same with Brushes......and some high end creams.

Tonights shave was one of the best i have had in a long time, it consisted of:

My own Handmade Lime Soap £ Free ;) ;)
Wilkinson Sword Classic Razor £4.69 from Boots
"Onoto" Best Badger Brush £8.00 from Complete Man
Astra Blade £ PIF

Cheap as chips and very satisfied i am too :D

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

What do you expect, it was purrrrrfect. One damn fine brush and it captures my attention each time I use it. I haven't had the brush for too long and with so many new brushes in the stables it's a few days in between shaves. Cella is a new soap for me and this brush just lays it on so nicely. If you have't used the AV Sport AS you're missing a treat. Nacet blade (3) (Thanks Blades). All the best, Robert

No jacket wearing weather today. ..... Oh, sorry ......

Re: Shave of the day - w/c Feb. 12th to 18th incl.

Thursday:

T+H hard soap
Edwin Jagger black badger
Gillette superspeed flare tip, Gillette bleue (1)
Ogalalla bay rum limes and peppercorns.

Shockingly bad start to the shave... the SS skipped and jumped around and sounded awful, like a tinny scraping sound. Switched to a ball end tech halfway through the first pass, (same blade) and things were much better.

Passable.
