It was 35 years ago on this date that the "Big Fitz" went down on Gitchee Gumee, the Chippewa name for Lake Superior, which literally means Big Water.. All aboard The Edmund Fitzgerald, 29 men, went down with her on that stormy November evening....

The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy....

Thats a great picture!

Wed

Proraso white pre/post
NF silvertip
MWF
7 oclock OC + Red IP (2)
Alum
Thayers with lemon
Proraso ASB

excellent shave, the fat is really great and the NF whips up a top lather.

Razor: Rolls Razor Imperial 2
Brush: Omega 599
Cream: Prairie-Creation JDM Cherry Blossom

SPM_A3367.jpg

Wring 2x. 1min 55. Within 40 sec dried after 1st pass. 3 passes.
Post-shave moisturised and smooth.

Thing about this brush. I wouldn't call it flaccid. It's very much like Vie-Long it's dense alright it splays (outwards) when it needs too but it's not moppy at all. One thing for sure you can lather all day and not realise time's gone by. It's not scrubby but very soft tips.

Wednesday

Kent BK4
"Lindsay's Choice" 6/8 square point

Bluebeard's Revenge
aftershave by Aldi

A close shave but not a comfortable one. If the Bluebeard cream gets another outing it'll be with a DE razor because it seems to provide scant protection from a straight. Also, I wound up with a tight face  , something that hasn't happened in a long time.

Thursday

Horrible shave today

Merkur HD
Gillette 7 o'clock black
Simpsons 57 2 band
MB unscented
Body Shop razor relief

It's amazing what a difference a new blade makes, the gillette has left my neck looking like a plucked chicken and the shave felt very smooth!
The new brush is a little prickly hopefully this will ease of as it beds in.

Thursday - giving the Derbys another try

Same stuff again:
King of Shaves oil - I think it's doing something. Once this bottle runs out I'll soon see what I'm missing... or not!
Palmolive stick - just an easy to use no-brain product
Vintage alu Tech - great little razor
Derby - it's either use them or bin them!
Nivea ASB

Hey, y'know, as my technique improves, so do these unloved Derbys. Got a decent shave with 2 passes.

Thursday

Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Jewel
Brush: Vulfix 2235
Cream: Boots Cool Cologne
Post: Alum, Tabac ASL

Very nice shave, liked the Jewel blade (thanks for the PIF IanM) Tabac ASL seems to suit my face but still trying to figure out the fragrance, initially I'm thinking its a touch too floral not sure, will see if it grows on me (no pun intended).
