Aura Glow as a Pre Shave Oil
Ingram Shave Cream
New Forest #2211 Finest Silvertip
H. Diamond #74 "The King"
SRD Premium I Strop .. 30 Linen/60 Leather
Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Nivea AS Balm
Aqua Velva Musk AS

I walk a couple of miles every morning before breakfast.. It keeps my old joints from stiffening up, and feels great in the cold weather! This morning we had snow flurries during my morning Constitutional, and well, I guess I'll let "Der Bingle" express my thoughts...

Monday

Gillette 1918 Single-ring
Shaving Shack Israeli blade
Palmolive (milled into a bowl)
Simpsons Commodore X1
Body Shop Arber AS Balm
Body Shop Arber EDT

This razor really does give a beautifully smooth, close shave - I'm going to pair it with a Feather next to see how that compares with the Israeli blade.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 Macys badger
1934 type Aristocrat/Iridium
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation) I am totally hooked on this stuff and have a hard time using anything else. Goofiest damn thing........
vintage Caron 'Yatagan AS
vintage Caron 'Yatagan' Pour Monsieur EdT

This unused Yatagan set from the 1970s was found browsing an estate sale a while back. I'd read about this frag, but hadn't actually sniffed any till then. Man, I grabbed the stuff and have used quite a bit of this juice so far. The AS goes away after maybe 15 minutes, but the EdT sticks around most of the day. Sadly, these are only 2 ounce bottles.

For anyone who's familiar with Yatagan, the vintage stuff is a good bit different than the latest reformulation. The old juice has a LOT more celery, which is one of the interesting notes in that fragrance anyway. Heh, I can't bring myself to open the bath soap that came with the set, although it smells pretty tasty. Truly a lucky find, and I didn't even try and bargain down from the $1 being asked.......

BBS results,

Martin

Late Monday Night:

  • - Le Tuft UH's Black & Blues set
    - ASCO Blue & Red super stainless (Lord Razor Group)
    - Nanny's Herby One soft shaving soap
    - Humphreys Lilac WitchHazel[/list:u]

Yet another great shaving blade from those fine folks in Egypt. Possibly the only serious times you'll hear/read me "praise the Lord", atheist (and anti-aristocracy sort) that I am.

Razor: Rolls Razor Imperial 2
Cream: Olivia Seife Bayrum
Brush: Vie-Long 16728

Wring 2x. 1min42. 5 creamy pass. Rework 1st. Post-shave smooth

I missed the exquisite scent of this Bayrum. I took sweet sweet time shaving. In hindsight I should have ordered lifetime supply of this along with few others.

Monday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: Custom NF two band
Razor: Calfa, made in Japan
Soap: Nannys Ice and slice
AS: Ogallala Lime and Peppercorns
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very clean :D
I red a thread about a guy who only used one pass (straight) and I tried it this morning. I had to do one touch up to get clean, but I don´t think it´s for me, got a little too scratchy for my taste.

Superspeed/7 o'clock yellow

Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve

Close, fresh, invigorating :)

Have you tried Lilac Vegetal? If so what do reckon?

Tuesday

Aristocrat & Wilkinson Sword > Semogue 830 & Santa Maria Novella > alum > Aqua Velva > Santa Maria Novella pre/dopo barba crema > YSL Kouros EdT

- First use for the Semogue; it is indeed a very nice brush as I had thought, although at the moment it naturally needs to break in more.
- First try with the Aqua Velva as well. Really good stuff.
- Neck had been left irritated since the last shave. Using the Aristocrat, the Santa Maria Novella shave cream and the heavy pre/dopo barba pomegranate creme this morning eliminated any irritation left-overs or concerns.

Tuesday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest 2 band
Razor: C V Heljestrand 9 1/2
Soap: MWF
AS: Floid
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D
Brush works excellent with MWF and face lathering (it´s was a prototype with extra stuffing) + MWF works great when it´s cold (-8 degrees celcius here).

Tuesday:
Razor: Gillette Fusion
Brush: Simpson Tulip 2 (two band Super)
Soap: D R Harris Lavender

Only the soap has changed.

Tuesday

Razor: Gillette Mach 3 (2)
Brush: simpsons 57 2 band
Soap: MB Unscented
AS: Thayers Superhazel
Cologne: DR Harris Arlington

Usual redness on the neck, Arlington is certainly my signature scent.

Good morning,

Tuesday

Feather and Futur
Nanny's eucalyptus shaving soap
Omega 81230 boar brush
Proraso AS splash
Boots moisturiser
Hugo Boss Hugo EDT

Same as yesterday. Ran out of hot water this morning, so not the best prep. Felt a bit rough, so called it a day at 1 pass. The Proraso stung and I'm left with an irritated neck. Should have boiled a kettle and filled the sink with hot water. Meh.

Thanls.
