Monday 31st January

Cade Soap - Semogue 2010 Custom Boar - Merkur Bakelite Razor - Gillette Bleue (2) - Ogallala Bay Rum Sandalwood

Second shave with this razor, as effortless as the first.

Monday
Pre: Hot shower
Brush Polo 8
Razor: Nessbit´s
Soap: Mama Bears Rose
AS: Prada
Strops: Neil Miller /linnen/cardovan 30/50
Result: Uberclean :D
I never realised, but this blade has allways seemed a little different, now I know why :D It´s hand forged in Sheffield, but it´s a singing full hallow blade and very "German", not like a Sheffield full hallow stiff grind, but a rather loud flexible blade.

Monday

Plantagenet Wedge
New Forest 2201 Brush
Penhaligon's English Fern Shaving Soap
L'Occitane Cade asb

Tried the wedge again just to check that Saturday's shave wasn't affected by another factor other than the blade. Things went a little better with this 2nd attempt with the wedge, and I got a reasonable result but it was hard work.

After 2 shaves I am pretty sure that this is not the razor for me, which is a shame as it's a handsome thing.

Nasty Nick (No not him outa Eastenders!) under my chin. Wrong angle, felt the blade dig in but it was all over before I knew!

And just to make my day even better I dropped the alum block in the handbasin! These would last for ever if I stopped dropping them! :(

Monday PM:

Prep: hot flannel

Merkur HD
Crystal Platinum (3rd shave - replaced once I'd finished)
TOBS sandalwood tube cream, bowl-lathered
Kent BK2
Boots witch hazel
Nivea Sensitive A/S balm

3 passes (WTG, XTG and XTG/ATG hybrid plus touch-ups as usual)

Apart from a tiny nick on my top lip (a moments' inatention caused me to not curl my top lip enough, and the blade just caught) this was another DFS. I found the TOBS cream similar to my standard RSC cream to lather with this brush, though the consistency wasn't quite as thick as last time, but I do really like the scent of it and the shave was a good, comfy one, perhaps the blade on its third shave dragged a smidge, but certainly no irritation or burn.

Lunes
Homemade pre shave oil/Taylor of Old Bond Street Avocado cream/Semogue LE 2010 #100 brush/Edwin and Jagger DE89 with Astra/444 alum block/Art of Shaving lemon balm(sample)

Monday:

Hot shower
Pacific shave oil used as a pre-shave
MWF
Cobra Classic w/feather pro (#7 shave)
Rooney Stubby 2 Heritage
Razorock alum

I squeezed the good lather out of the brush and rubbed it in for a nice post shave touch, BBS!

Tuesday

Gong Razor
New Forest 2201 Brush
Coates Sandalwood Cream
Nivea Sensitive asb

Not quite as good as Sunday's shave with this razor, but the lather wasn't 100% - I think my old tub of Coates is getting a bit past it. I was also pushed for time, which is never a good thing.

Tuesday:

Hot shower, T+H ultimate comfort pre shave oil
T+H Almond cream (sample), Edwin Jagger BB
Edwin Jagger DE87, Gillette 7 o'clock yellow (1)

Two passes, one touch up. Two thumbs fresh!

Tuesday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: New forest silvertip know in barbers handle
Razor: Roberts
Soap: Professor Blightly´s Grapewood
AS/cologne: Professor Blightly´s Grapewood

Result: Close to perfect :D
This is my Wild West gear/set up, even though everything is from England (well, the brush handle was made in Taiwan). Wow, this was a smoooth and close one! :D
