Trumper Razor
Feather Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush
Penhaligon's English Fern Soap

Needed to drop the car of for some brake surgery this morning, so not enough time for straights.

Superb shave - 1 pass is with this combo is closer than 3 with the straight, currently.

Back with the straight today. Worked very gingerly round my cut on my chin! Did good.
The straight is more work but it's also more engaging and enjoyable. :)

Wednesday AM

Received a package from Connaught Shaving this morning that included a bar of Musgo Real lime oil soap, so I tried it as a pre-shave facial soap.

Prep:
Musgo Real lime oil soap
Hot flannel

Shave:
Merkur HD
Crystal platinum
Kent BK2
Real Shave Co. cream, bowl-lathered
3 passes as usual

Post-shave:
Boots witch hazel
Nivea sensitive A/S balm

Noticed a tiny amount of burn; could this be a slight sensitivity to the Musgo Real? Hope not. Decent lather, but not as stunning as previously. I think I'm getting a bit impatient again! Result - good, though a couple of rough spots that my clumsy attempted J-hooking and less clumsy buffing usually get.

Wednesday, 02-02-11.

Soap from Aleppo 100% olive - Rooney 1/2 silvertip - Gillette Aristocrat Junior - Polsilver #1 - Pre JASÖN Shave Therapy - Castle Forbes Lime Oil shaving cream - Alum block - Thayers Lemon - ASL Physical + ASB.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields silvertip
1958 Executive/Feather
MWF
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Tom Ford 'Amber Absolute' EdP

Time to put the Toggle back in the arsenal for a while. I gotta say it was more enjoyable than usual shaving with that clunky old thing. I still don't love it, but it ain't bad. Nice getting back to one of my perfect combos this morning.

BBS results,

Martin

Wednesday

5/8 J Gleave & Sons Hollow Ground
Anthony Logistics Shave Cream (sample from Sonny)
Simpsons Commodore X1
Lloyds Chemist Witch Hazel
L'Oreal Men Expert 24hr Hydrating AS Balm
Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Wednesday

Allen & son 5/8
Maca Root cream
Vulfix 2235
Alum
Aquatonic AS

If you haven't seen my other post then this shave was a test shave after honing, this time and for the 1st time it was like a pro-honed edge so very satisfying. I did do a pass with an ever ready 1912 and gem blade to tidy up the under chin area but that wasn't strictly necessary and just due to a weird growth pattern below the chin that makes an ATG str8 stroke to get the last few awkward hairs physically impossible. Overall result very, very clean

Thursday

Gong Razor
New Forest 2201 Brush
Penhaligon's English Fern Soap
Trumper's Limes a/s

Shaves are feeling better, but a 2xWTG shave yeilds a shave that is not as close as 1xWTG with a DE. I'm wondering if my angle is too flat.
