Tuesday

Gillette Mach3
Simpsons 57 2 band Super
Scheerzeep Dutch Moss
Thayers

Wednesday

Gillette Sensor Excel
Simpsons 57 2 band Super
Palmolive Soap
Thayers and boots moisturiser

I'm having a poor shaving week, very smooth but quite irritated since yesterday. The Ever Ready brush I want to get restored arrived yesterday and my it stinks of sick!

Wednesday

EJ DE89L
Red Personna (3)
Simpson's Wee Scot
Godrej Soap Round

Brut AS
Nivea ASB

Face lathered, 2 pass.

You need to be in the right frame of mind to use a Slant, and I'm not this week, so I've changed to the EJ - and enjoyed a very nice shave.

Note to Yellow Jim- Scotty performed nicely (again) with the Godrej. Loadsa lather.

:D

Wednesday morning:

Body Shop maca root cream
Edwin Jagger pure badger
Merkur 34c HD, Gillette yellow 7 o'clock (1)
Cold rinse
Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Limes EDT.

Back to basics, no oil, no alum, no time.
I did want to use Artisan's trial soap but looking out at the severe frost on my car I decided that would have to wait.

Nice shave. Close, comfortable, fragrant.

Wednsday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: Astor
Razor: Roberts
Soap: Nannys Patchouli
Strop: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D
What a nice brush, in every sense! :D I thought it would be good, but it actually was spot on - precision and latherbillity. And this blade makes it easy to reach every part of my face, good one today! :D

Wednesday 19th January

Proraso Pre - Palmolive Soap - Semogue 2010 Custom Boar - Gillette Fatboy - Gillette Bleue (2) - Speick AS

Nice two pass shave today. Always surprised when I go back to the Palmolive how good it is, it more than holds it's own with much more expensive soaps.

:D

I tried playing about with it last night David and still didn't really get what I wanted, that's why I decided to exclude it from today's shave.

Wednesday
Razor: Gillette Fusion Proglide
Brush: Simpson Tulip
Cream: Acqua Di Parma Colonia
Cologne: Acqua Di Parma Colonia Assoluta

That made a nice change.

Wednesday AM:

Prep: thin coat of lather and hot flannel
Merkur HD
Crystal Platinum
Real Shaving Co. cream
Steve Woodhead bowl
TOBS synthetic brush
Witch Hazel
Nivea balm

New blade this time, thicker lather (I always find with our hard water that RSC cream takes more water and more work to lather than TOBS) and much more comfortable shave. Only a tiny bit of irritation in my usual spot (below jawbone on left side of face) due to J-hooking to get rid of a few stubborn hairs. As only the second brand of blade I've tried so far  (Wilkinsons were the first), I must say these Crystals are my current favourites! :D

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1964 Macys silvertip
1958 Executive/Feather
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Jacomo de Jacomo EdT (older version)

BBS results,

Martin

MWF hand Soap,
Real Shaving Co. SC,
Simpson Colonel,
Dovo 5/8,
Alum Block,
GFT Limes SF,
L'Occitan EdT.
