Thursday
Razor: Gillette Fusion Proglide
Brush: Simpson Tulip T2 Super
Soap: D R Harris Lavender
After: D R Harris Pink
Cologne: Acqua Di Parma Colonia Assoluta

Wednesday Evening

Kropp 5/8
New Forest 2201
Taylor's Rose Shaving Cream
D.R. Harris Pinks a/s

Bad: Not close enough. Worked so much in some areas to get closer that I got some burn.

Good: Really getting used to handling the razor. It's starting to feel much less 'alien' then it used to. No Blood.

Thursday Morning

Merkur 38c
Shark Super Chrome
New Forest 2201
Palmolive Shaving Cream
Ogalalla Bay Rum + Lime + Peppercorns (Ow. Ow. Fucking. Ow)

Just one pass with this to make up for the shortcomings of the straight.

Ian

Nice Ian! :D When you get the "grip" of the razor you really can start to develope reliable angels to cut from and now you can start to work out the right angle for you and for the razor you use.

Thursday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest silvertip knot
Razor: Red Imp
Cream: Irish Moss
AS: ROMA
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D
I think Irish Moss has vetiver in it!? I did a cold water touch up and landed an extremly close/clean shave today :D

Thursday morning:

Hot towel
T+H ultimate comfort pre oil
Body Shop maca root cream, Ed Jagger pure badger
Merkur 34C HD, Gillette 7 o'clock yellow (2)
TOBS bay rum

Good, solid and comfy 2 pass shave. Liberal use of the bay rum today as a body splash instead of roll on. Sexy nice!

Good morning,

Thursday:

Feather and Futur
Nanny's Ice & a Slice soap (1st outing)
Omega boar brush
Proraso AS splash
Boots moisturiser
Juicy Couture Dirty English cologne

Futur set at 2. WTG, ATG and fini.
Had to blow the dust off of the cologne bottle, but it is nice for a change.

Thanks

Test Shave of a Lepine A Lyon "Favorite"

I received this, and a few others, to hone up. There was frown in the edge that needed to be worked out, so I hit the Extra Coarse DMT, then the coarse, fine and Extra fine. Then on to an all-Shapton Glass stone progression with the 1K, 2K, 4K gray, 6K gray, 10K and 30K. I noticed early on that the edge was too foily, so I added a piece of tape.

Overall, the shave was extremely smooth. The blade is at least a 6/8 if not bigger and full hollow ground. I did WTG and ATG and a light touch up. Very nice. A look under the scope afterward revealed the edge held up nicely, but I think it could stand one more honing from the 2K to get rid of a couple of micro chips.

My daughter picked the cream, and I couldn't agree more. The King Kong was missed :D

Cream: Olivia's King Kong
Lotion: Olivia's King Kong
Brush: Bock Silvertip
Razor: Lepine A Lyon "Favorite"
Strop: Kanayama 20,000 (yes I have one of those, too :) )

I learnt a leason today!!

Must have been just a little cock-sure off myself and didn't give the razor the respect it deserves!
No real nicks, cuts or weepers, but a few little red lines which only became apparent after the final cold rinse.
And may I say the AS with just a drop of Witch Hazel did a great job! :D
