SE v DE What's the benefits?

There are many, MANY, vintage razors that take the wonderful GEM blade, no need to emasculate yourself with some modern, backyard garage, homemade, poorly machined, house payment priced, fad razor!!! It's vintage or hairiness, no third choice for a sane man with good taste! Vintage brass has vintage class, stainless steel is for deck screws.

Ah, the perils of buying modern expensive razors that people think are so wonderful.

This is an over-generalisation. To assume all contemporary cutlery as above is sweeping and nonsensical.

A little over the top? I'm being facetious of course! Any properly made blade holder will shave any man who knows how to shave. You fellas just take things too seriously! But I have generated much useful conversation have I not? I'm hungry!!!

I got Mike's in a trade, it works well for me.

What did you dislike about it? I quite like the G1. @vates taught me about the different versions and I seem to have a V2 - not sure if that makes a difference.

Yep, no problems with my G1. It is a mild razor alright. But with some technique adjustments, I can get close shaves with no problems. For example, I find some Techs and Star DE razors to be too mild to get a really close shave with. So G1 (v2) is definitely a mild-plus razor for me. YMMV
