This morning:

Prep: Cold rinse
Razor: Edv Neiström no 52, 9/16" 1/4 hollow
Brush: Neep #1287 cobalt blue tulip horsehair
Soap: Proraso green
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet

First run out for the green soap in months, and very nice too. Best part of a shitty day.

I arrived at the club tonight planning to have a quick training session and then go visit our coach (head coach since 1957) in the hospital, where he's been recovering from a stroke. It turns out visiting hours closed for ever this afternoon.

He was the reason I won the British and commonwealth titles I have, the reason I know anything about our sport and its history, my mentor and my friend. He taught me to be a better man in many ways. He cannot be replaced.

I will try to do what would have made him proud, as best I can.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. He was obviously a great coach, and a great friend, and those memories can never be taken away. Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about your loss Rick.

I think, from what you've typed, you've already made him proud and he got to see it too.

Either way, they will be appearing shortly on the BST to see if anyone want to trade!

Prep: Shower
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Empire
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Modified
Brush: Omega 39 Boar

A really close comfortable shave from this old razor and I suspect a better one than the original owner got with the wedge blades he had to use.

I'd been wondering about these razors - I wasn't sure if they were display pieces only. There seem to be plenty about at quite reasonable prices.

Do the blades fit out of the box or are modifications required?

^^ +1 I've seen a few of those Wilkinson razors about, I'd be interested to know what blade modifications are needed too. That'd mean I could acquire another SE!
