I will be interested in what you think of the slant i was thinking of it for my next razor when i save the penny's ;)

me too :D

I did a bit of a review of it a couple of weeks ago...hope it helps your decision making process?

Go on you know you want to - you know you will...

DOH ALERT: I MISREAD DEC 04 FOR JAN O4. WHAT A DOOFUS, EH?

Aaarrghh! This thread is really making me want to buy one of these EJ razors!!

I've finally found shaving heaven in the shape of a '47 Superspeed but now my head has been turned. I have suffered from and conquered SSAD and SCAD but not had RAD so far. Maybe this is my fate...

I mean, what's twenty quid anyway??

Does anyone know if this is this the same head on the DR Harris DE87 that Paul has?

The DE87 DR Harris has the new head this thread is about.
I have the heavy Chatsworth with the new head arriving today - a birthday gift! Weighs in at 115g compared with the £20 version of 60g. The handle is longer too. Like switching from the Merkur 34c to the 38c.

Thanks Fido, I thought as much. Reading all the positive reviews I will pick one of these up and see how it is for me. As HM said it is £20 so for a brand new razor nothing to loose, if I don't get on with it (which I doubt) I will pass it in to someone here.

Fido, you're the only bloke I know who has more birthdays than the Queen ;) .

Please let us know how you get on with the delicious-looking Chatsworth (I've had my beady eye on this one for a while. Bit pricey, though). It's like the Brigitte Nielsen of the EJ range.

Thinking about selling my Edwin Jagger Georgian ... if anyone is interested.

Used about 10 times, brand new condition, complete with box etc

My latest Jagger - Chatsworth Chrome - with the new head - just arrived. It's a weighty beast at 115g compared with my other model (60g) Here it is alongside my Merkur 38C as well for comparison. I prefer a heavier razor. It feels good in hand.

And it's so good to see decent packaging. But at £53 it should have. With apologies for poor photo quality - I was in too much of a hurry.

Cant see you doing that, its an outstanding razor. Its still holding me back on further razor purchases.

Used the Chatsworth Chrome this morning. The additional weight -115g compared with 60g for my other one - will take time to adjust to. The new head performed as well as usual but I have got so used to the lighter model, it felt a bit strange. As always one must give anything new time to settle before rushing to judgement. There is another lightweight version with a longish handle for me to try - perhaps next Christmas or birthday? Ho ho!

All here!

Thank you for the good wishes Prophet. I'm not quite there yet so I still have some time for more indulgences. In fact, looking at the links in my last post I'm thinking I might simply decide to be an Edwin Jagger Razor collector. Then I can get the lot in pursuit of a new interest! Nothing to do with shaving of course.

What is this tendency some of us humans have to collect things? Saw a fellow the other day displaying his collection of baked beans tins labels. He's got over 300! Then there's a guy not far from here whose garden is full of red telephone boxes. And there's a garden at Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight with more Gnomes than flowers.

I'm off to the lounge - what's this got to do with shaving?
