SOTD : Saturday 19th February-Friday 25th February 2022.

Last night's SOTD and themed 'A big boy shave'

20220223_180540.jpg

Big razor - Stainless Mongoose
Big blade - Feather Proguard
Bloody big boy brush - AP Shaving 30mm Cashmere
Giving it large - MDC Fougere

From Sweaty Betty by the Mac Lads, 'You could get a bus inside her'. Indeed you could. Or at the least a car

This shave was somewhat driven by the thread on Big Brushes which rather prompted me to reach for not just the biggest, but also the heaviest in the cabinet. But deliver, it does and made so easy with the super MDC.

A top drawer shave with top drawer results and a big happy man to go with it.

Seems some time since Band Maid made an appearance on my SOTD's. How could I ever leave such talent behind? I can't....

And I love you all

Brush: C&H 'Casanova'
Soap: NO Plunder
Razor: Blackland Dart
Blade: Feather HS
Post: NO Plunder

Leisurely 2 pass shave this morning, the slapdash quick shave with the dart still haunts me. Nice smooth finish, slight feedback with the AS application but no irritation following. Can't ask for more, and with a day off tomorrow and flights now booked for Cape Town in April it's a happy day!

Hope everyone has a cracking day!

Cheers

Marc

Normal service has resumed, i am really enjoying these Pro-Guard blades in the razors i have tried them in.
For me the Original Claymore shaves as well as most, if not all, of the more modern razors i have tried and deserves his place in the den with the ones i kept.
I did enjoy that.
Sad times in Europe this morning.
Stay safe safe and enjoy your day all

SOTD: 24/02/2022

Razor: Leaf Twig
Blade: Astra SP, 1st use
Brush: Yaqi Freedom Italian Flag 24mm Cashmere
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: Menrock Black Pomegranate Cream
Aftershave: Tom Ford Black Orchid dupe EDT
Balm: Baxter Of California Aftershave Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

A truly lovely scented cream, this should be my go to set up for a quick shave. Lathers instantly, and with little work required. The twig was speedy and efficient as ever. Little sting from the post shave alum, all in all a great start to the day.
Enjoy your day guys.

Thursday:
Canadian Schick E5.
I tried loading it with a Parker blade, as I had 20 included with the InjRzr, but have been using my Schick blades.
I couldn't get them to inject into position correctly on each of the attempts and thought I was going to embed them in my finger trying to adjust them to sit on the stoppers. So ended up using one of the Schick blades and it injected perfectly.

2 passes for a DFS.

The Proraso (omega) boar is the less used one of the 2 I have and was fairly scritchy, but it lathered OK and allowed the P&B to do its thing.

At least the shave lifted spirits after seeing the news. Yet another war kicking off.
At least on the bright side, I'm not trying to get a decent shave with tanks rolling by!

Happy Thursday all

Brush- Yaqi Giotto 24mm
Soap - TDS Kosmetika Rose Notes
Razor- Ever Ready 1912 Bathroom Set
Blade - Gem Personna SSC #4
Post - TDS Kosmetika Rose lotion & Natural Balm
The Bathroom Set, with it's lighter aluminium handle, has totally won me over. I did think of swapping a heavier handle, but its nimble and so fun to use. Mike @mpf9ret was right - perfect razor for someone wishing to try Gem or SE razors for first time.
Take care all and enjoy your shaves
