8 days not shaving.

Goatee / tache are already at the 6 week stage so they are looking very bushy right now.

Will have to have a bit of a tidy up when the rest of the whiskers start to catch up.

My plan is to end up with a George V in a couple of months ... if I get that far. My track record suggests I won't get past 3 weeks!

Nannys post shave hydration

overall a decent shave. Still unsure about using the nannys post shave hydration instead of a balm/witch hazel/splash though

Prep: Cold Water Splash
Razor: iKon Slant with UFO Kaiser Short
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Brush: SOC Boar
Soap: D R Harris Windsor
Post: Witch Hazel
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

A excellent first shave with the slant, i like it very much.

Here are my thoughts.

- Very nicely made and a nice weight on my UFO handle
- The head is quite thick, but doesnt cause any problems.
- No messing about setting the blade needed - aligned great first time with no adjustment needed
- Like the Muhle heads, no blade ears sticking out
- Not much blade sticking out under the cap, similar to the R41 '13, so the blade doesnt bounce like a Fatip for example.
- Loads of audio feedback
- Lather flows through the head nicely, with no blockages. I shaved one half of my face XTG without rinsing the head to test.
- Did i put a blade in it? Where did the whiskers go? very smooth like a Weber
- Cut through 3 days worth of whiskers without any problem at all.
- Zero cuts or irritation
- Two passes and no touch-up's needed, the same as if i was using a Fatip or R41. With most other razors i always have to touchup around the jaw line.

Very happy with the shave and this head. I cant really compare it to the 37c as i only used it a few times before mostly using my Fatip and OC razors.

A Slant veteran would be better suited to comparing the two.

Thursday xxix August, 2013

Prep: Hot shower, Shea Butter Soap
Pre: Tepid water splash
Brush: None - neglected to pack it
Soap: None, as no brush, but used Vito's Pre to get some slip n slide
Razor: Digress LD
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Post: Thayers Medicated WH, Zirh Post Shave Solution

Result: Minor panic when I unpacked yesterday evening and realised that my Frank Shaving Pur-Tech was still out, at home, drying. Considered finding a Supermarket or late opening Boots in order to see if I could pick up a cheap Wilkinson Sword brush or similar, but thought for a single shave the Vito's pre would be sufficient, as so it proved.

Good day, my fine fellows

Jon

Lovely three pass shave, nice and smooth. It was slightly interrupted by a wasp that flew through the bathroom window and decided to closely observe the shave for a while.

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Proraso pre-shave - sensitive
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood cream
Brush: MÜHLE Kosmo synthetic
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Razor: Cadet OC TP02-SS
Blade: Sputnik (1)
After: Alum, Barbershop Bay Rum, Limes Skin Food

I'd put this sandalwood cream at the back of the cupboard but having used it a few times recently and it's back as one of my faves; very easy to lather and not too strong a scent.
Cadet was pretty aggressive, even with Sputnik blade and felt draggy but managed a BBS with very little irritation.
