Wednesday Evening

Prep : Clinique face soap and scruff
Razor : Merkur Progress XL
Blade : Treet Durasharp
Brush : Simpson Chubby 2
Soap stick : La Toja
Post shave : Proraso Splash

First time using the Treet in the Merkur, excellent combo although I'm starting to believe every blade is good in the Progress.

First time using the La Toja soap stick. Not really had much of a play with sticks so I have 4 that arrived this week and this was the first one. Initially very impressed but was worried the Chubby wouldn't give me 3 passes but it did.. just

Lovely three pass shave, nice and smooth. It was slightly interrupted by a wasp that flew through the bathroom window and decided to closely observe the shave for a while.
You didn't tell it to buzz off?
Sorry that joke was weak even for me.

Thursday 29th August

Brush: Omega 20102
Cream: T&H No. 10- face lathered
Razor: Schick L Type
Blade: Personna (3)
Post: Witch Hazel

Nice shave, really enjoying the injector. First use of the the T&H and it just reminds me of Maca Root. Looks the same, smells very similar to me, although slightly more citric, and performs just as excellently. 2 ATG passes, lovely and smooth.

TRS Week (they are on offer in Morribongo's)

Prep: TRS Daily Face Scrub, Somerset's TS Shave Oil
Razor: 2 piece US Old type
Blade: Rapira (pink and blue)
Brush: Boots No 4 Butterscotch
Soap: TRS Traditional Shave Cream
Post: Alum, TRS SPF15 Anti-Aging :)blush:) Moisturiser, Myrsol Limon
Smellies: Cella Classica and Black Musk Attar

I've gone through a tube of the scrub before and this reminder has confirmed it as my favourite scrub. I'm quite impressed with the other bits as well; the cream has a nice light citrusy scent and performs well. The moisturiser, whilst making me feel like a twat with the "Anti-Aging" nonsense, leaves my skin in good condition. Though it feels quite heavy when applied.

All in all a more than satisfactory experience.

Bonjour,

Shower prep
Monsavon soap
Progress (#2)
Gillette Bleue Extra (2)
Cold rinse
Aqua Velva A/S

As you can tell I'm currently on holiday in France ! Really impressed with monsavon and the blades, both give a great shave.
The Aqua Velva lives up to its reputation as well.

Gillette Aristocrat Junior
Astra Superior Stainless (4)
Muhle Silvertip Fibre, v1
Palmolive Classic stick
Lucky Tiger Face Tonic

Into the last few days of the summer holiday, and I think I'm almost ready to go back to work. Spending yet another afternoon on the beach after a morning leisurely spent in the garden, reading the papers with a pot of tea. 25 going on 52.

Razor: Heljestrand MK32
Hone: Escher
Brush: Scullbrush 2band finest badger.
Cream: Cella
AS: Dr.Harris Sandalwood

First shave of my new Escher Hone. super nice result, a keeper!

Warm shower
Hot flannel
Nanny's Citrus zinger hard soap bowl lathered
Simpson Hive manchurian badger brush
Gillette 1920 Big fellow
Sputnik (1)
Cold rinse
Thayer's lavender witch hazel
Myrsol lemon aftershave

Comfortable shave, the Big fellow has some heft to it compared to a single ring. The shave's similar to the single ring. This one has the 'old type' head. The serial number on it dates it to 1920.

Hot flannel
Proraso pre, menthol
Omega 10219, Nanny's soft soap, Tea Tree & Aloe Vera
Gillette Fatboy (#4), Personna Lab Blue (2)
Cold splash and selective use of the styptic pencil
Clinique post -shave healer

For the second day I've found myself riffing on the "lost mojo" theme. Funnily enough, after a cold splash and a bit of corrective surgery it's settling down into a pretty decent shave (like yesterday)... just too damn nicky and weepy during the act. The only common denominator is the Lab Blue... seems an unlikely culprit but I've ditched it prematurely just to be on the safe side.

Once again the brush and soap are the stars. The Omega is my plastic-handled one... it's excellent, but a bit of a bugger to hang on to if you overdo the lather.

Musgo Real glyce classic soap
Merkur Digress HD B / Rapira
Simpsons 'Rover' Manchurian Butterscotch
Supermax Shaving cream
Proraso Green A/S
Surrati Tom Aoud

Sometimes after a shitty day shaving is almost like therapy. Today was one of those days. Sometimes shaving costs about as much as therapy too :icon_cry2:

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

Savile Row badger
Schick M type adjustable injector/Gillette Platinum Plus (1969 NOS)
RL Safari SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
RL 'Safari' EdT (old juice)

Last few days shaves till today have been with the 'Webly'/Feather combo, which was great. This morning the injector called to me, still loaded from the last time with this excellent old Gillette blade.

BBS results,

Martin

It raised a smirk from me.
