S.O.T.D. Saturday 9th August to Friday 15th August 2014

Greetings

Monday 11th August 2014
Prep: Shower
Razor: Joseph Elliot 6/8th
Brush: Burma Shave Boar
Soap: Tabac Stick Grated
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)
EDT: Quorum

I'm thrilled with this mornings shave, whilst hardly a Eureka moment I completed a whole shave without any facial damage, I used both hands and managed to get my chin nice and smooth. Whilst not a perfect shave it is certainly as good as a two pass SE shave without touching up. I did two passes and a little extra in the difficult areas.

Whilst I still have a very long way to go I now feel I have stepped up to the second rung on the straight shaving ladder, this was my eleventh straight shave and my goal is to get to grips with it by Christmas.

Regards
Dick.

Monday xi August, 2014

Prep: Hot shower, Zirh Alpha Hydroxy Face Wash
Pre: Cold water splash
Brush: Invisible Edge Horn Handle
Soap: Fitjar Slåtterøy Shave Stick
Razor: Punktal
Blade: Super-Max Super Platinum
Post: Muehlens 4711 Eau de Cologne, Bulldog ASB
Fragrance: Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur

Result: All good. The Super Max is pleasingly smooth and the razor is milder than I thought it would be. I think the Fitjar soap is fabulous - very slick.

All the best

Jon

MONDAY MORNING

Pre: Tepid rinse & Noxzema massaged into beard
Cream: Simpsons Peppermint & Rosemary
Brush: TSN 2013 LE
Razor: Ikon DLC slant
Blade: Polsilver
Post: Veg, Institut Karite balm

Have had family down for the past few days and have had to have rushed shaves just using Village Barber oil. Have to say they have been surprisingly good (as well as very quick) but it's nice to be able to return to a nice relaxed shave before I return to work later this week.

Sound like a very nice combo with the Simpson's cream, which to my eyes is a top of the line cream. How do you get along with the Noxzema?
